ghd straightners

Hi,

A freind of mine has recently been buying straightners from:-

www. fancyghd. com

He reckons their real and he`s currently getting away selling them on ebay, but they must be f a k e s, what do you guys reckon?

If they are wont he be vero`d soon?

Thanks

Lyda 05-10-2009 07:55 AM

Looks pricey to me! I can go to my local Ulta or WallMart store and buy the same for a fraction of those.

ebay 05-10-2009 09:47 AM

deffo ⊗⊗⊗⊗

the biggest giveaway is the western union sign

NO ID 05-10-2009 11:05 AM

you get vero regardless if its real or not - your only hope is to fight the vero if its real and wait till its safe to relist again

GreenBean 05-10-2009 06:50 PM

Difficult item to list in the UK. Would not touch it because of the chance of having the listing taken down.:pout:

viking23 05-10-2009 10:06 PM

Difficult item to sell anywhere.
GHD is on the war path big time,if you are not an authorized stockist.
They are history sooner or later, even if they are real (which I highly doubt).

poolianjoole 05-11-2009 02:25 AM

thought so....

I told him they were f a k e, but nope he wouldnt have non of it, he`s sold 9 now and totally new to ebay so dont believe he will be taken down. I KNOW!!!

I told him to read some of the posts on his site.

What vero items are they not bothered on then? n i k e / a b e r c r o m b i e, because seems to be loads on there?

GreenBean 05-11-2009 02:33 AM

Nope, both that you mentioned can and are taken down in the UK:pout:

poolianjoole 05-11-2009 06:17 AM

suprise suprise

hey greenbean,

are there any that you can get away? :D

cortex 05-11-2009 07:04 AM

"There currently are 1203 guests and 1020 members online"

what a loada crap!

GreenBean 05-11-2009 07:09 AM

Cortex, wth are you on about? :peace:

hitch 05-11-2009 12:02 PM

Those are ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

I listed a few chi's about a month ago.

AFTER the auction closed, the Vero cops deleted the listings.. good thing the folks already paid! they got their item, but couldnt leave feedback.. i didnt care i got paid:D

poolianjoole 05-11-2009 03:26 PM

Nice hitch nice,

So have you got any advice on items that they aint so strict on?

GreenBean 05-11-2009 06:16 PM

pooli,
Cracks me up when users say 'their friend' is selling items & wants to know what is good to sell. We don't really mind if it is YOU. LOL.:cheer:
Read this thread http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-di...wholesale.html
Although you might not be doing a high volume of sales, you do your own research & find what item(s) will work. :thumb:

Sure.. Non Vero, low cost items :) You'll never go wrong :pound:

poolianjoole 05-12-2009 03:52 AM

not that you will believe me, but I really do swear it is a friend, at those prices I would never buy from there no way, but he was insisting that they were original.

Thought it was to good to be true....

lots of you, say low cost items... any of you ever tried liquidation . com?

or light in the box . com or am i going down the totally wrong line? really need to get selling.

Vicvelcro 05-12-2009 10:31 AM

Liquidation.com is often a disappointment. At least that was my experience in the past. After several really crappy deliveries of items allegedly in quite good condition (salvage class in reality), I pretty much turned my back to them a few years ago. Maybe it's different now. Back then, only a few orders were actually near what they claimed to be. And the shipping prices are a "GOTCHA!"

Burst 05-12-2009 04:28 PM

Theyre definitely ⊗⊗⊗⊗. They do make high quality ⊗⊗⊗⊗ of these though. The price is a dead giveaway. The western union doesnt mean anything. I would accept WU as a payment option if I owned a website. The more options, the better.

But anyways, there are ways to list the GHD brand, and CHI brand on eBay with a SLIM chance of getting pulled. How? You'll have to figure it out ;)

ebay 05-12-2009 05:39 PM

western union on someones website does not mean anything ?

it a dead giveaway with western union has no protection for the buyer !!!

and which idiot would pay like $20 extra to send by western union just to make it easier for the seller

Burst 05-12-2009 05:58 PM

Everyone knows the insecurities with WU. WU even tells you while on hold or using their website.

vzg 05-23-2009 10:22 PM

1) Stay away from GHD. Your customers will know it's a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ if they do a quick google. The hologram is an easy fast way to tell. Unhappy customers = accounts going bub-bye & inconveniencing you.
2) If you're going to buy from china, find a supplier that uses paypal. They know that if they screw you they will have it reversed so they are bound to be more honest with you about what is and isn't replicas & if it's quality or crap.

hitch 05-24-2009 10:14 AM

Things have changed over the past several months.

6 months to a year ago, it was very uncommon to have a supplier use paypal.. if they did use paypal it wouldnt last long.

Now, almost all of the legit suppliers use paypal.

You know what I just saw today.. "Brand Cigarettes" haha i never saw those on one of the suppliers sites until today

Burst 05-24-2009 07:53 PM

Yeah there have already been a couple raids on stores selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ cigarettes haha.

Chinese will copy anything

GHD is not a brand to work with, try CHI if you want to stay in that area.

ebay 05-24-2009 09:36 PM

they make f.a.k.e drugs aswell they make f.a.k.e cars

ain't nothing new they can copy almost anything

don't mess with chi, you'll get your auctions shut down ..even if you mange to have some auctions close youll still get reported.. chi has "vero cops" monitoring ebay

vzg 05-25-2009 06:48 AM

Don't mess with the cigarettes. Most things selected to go through customs you can get out after 1-5 days, real or ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Replica cigarettes can result in an agent knocking on your door.

hitch 05-26-2009 08:56 AM

hell yea, i would never buy ⊗⊗⊗⊗ cigarettes.. that's asking for the DEA to come visit your place in a heart beat.

mylo 05-30-2009 12:56 PM

I used to sell These GHDS the quality of the ones i used to get were exceptional they really were 1:1 but they are very hard to get through customs
I had way too much trouble with customs over these so i called it quits on selling these. Even though i never got vero strike or customer complaint over selling them

CorrineK22 05-30-2009 06:11 PM

I ordered and just received in the mail a lot of 10 chi straighteners from China. I was planning on selling them on ebay. What should I do to not get caught? By the way, my ebay account just got suspended a few days ago so I got a lot more to figure that than just that. :(

vzg 05-31-2009 08:25 AM

I have 50 of the Chi Turbo 2" sitting in my garage (along with about 10K worth of other stuff). hehe

If you sell them on ebay do a 1 day auction starting on the weekend (I like to think the vero cops for chi don't work on the weekend)

Only list one item. Then do a bunch of second chance offers just to get rid of them lol.

Or do a buy it now for like $50 w/ free shipping that way people will want to buy it fast and your exposure is low.

I dealt with chi several times , they have a 3rd party agency monitoring there stuff.. the email you get will be from "Copsfarouk @ sipi.in"

just do quick swift auctions and you might survive. But i had some second chance listing closed down as well with chi.. i would never do chi again.

OR you can have a lady friend sell the chi's to her friends for like 80 bucks .. or maybe craigslist :)

Liquidation is such a pain the butt.....alot of their items are returns.....so you dont know if it even works.....we use to buy from them and pickup at their warehouse.....many things do not work, and we ended up losing $$.
stay far away from liquidation, not worth the hassle!
