Georgia Pacific eMotion Towel Dispensers.

Georgia Pacific came after me with lawyers for just trying to sell one of their machines. And tried to send a carrier to my house to retrieve it. |
| cardfelon | 05-06-2010 07:42 PM | While you have a good idea many people will not share what they sell on here. Even though some items may be VERO and get pulled some people can sell those items and not have the problems. |
| cardfelon | 05-06-2010 07:43 PM | Are you serious about the towel dispenser?? Quote:

I think the OP is requesting items/companies members may have tried to sell in the past. Nothing wrong with giving others a "Heads-UP". |
| art888 | 05-06-2010 07:51 PM | Thanks for the 3 recent responses. HHAHAHA thats crazy "the towel dispenser"
also i have heard that warner bros are very very strict on eBay.. I dont have any personal experiences with them but i have read on past forums. thanks everyone |

| jesseinkaron | 05-06-2010 10:36 PM | Great Idea ! I have already suggested this in the past and it was shut down!
But the forum seems to have lightened up in recent times ?
It would be usefull to list the vero items that are agressively targeted by vero and the rights holders. We all know what vero items are, but the question is .. what can we get away with selling .. and for how long ?
I like the idea ..
My contribution : UMBRO , ADIDAS , Manchester United ..
These rights owners are constantly scanning ebay and are relentless in thier pursuit! |
| art888 | 05-07-2010 12:17 AM | Really disney dvd's get pulled?? i know that some sellers can sell vero and wont get pulled like mentioned above. But i have saved a seller that is from {china} and has been selling hundreds of disney movies for about 2 weeks. plus about 5 other sellers that sell disney and state on the listings that they are open box movies but sell hundreds also.. so my question is now what if i start an auction of baby Einstein and let say it sells for about 30 dollars (will i get vero-ed if i send second chance offers??
or lets say i sell yor baby can read and send second chance offers and sell 7 at a time would that make the listing get vero-ed even if its over??
Thanks guys. |
| jamblix | 05-07-2010 12:23 AM | Oakle Nice thread I like it.
For those who were talking about Disney DVDs what is wrong with selling them if they are legit?
items that gave me trouble:
The Beatles Stereo Box Set
Bose products
Oakleys
TRX Suspension Trainer
Beachbody products
Jerseys |
| art888 | 05-07-2010 03:10 AM | "jamblix" i guess i had luck selling the beatles stereo box sets :) i sold 10 of them last month no problems and got positive feedback on all 10.. thanks for the posts ladies and gentlemen |
| OfficialGenius | 05-07-2010 08:53 AM | Prada . |
| cardfelon | 05-07-2010 10:27 AM | Some of the things that people listed above can be sold on Ebay with no problems. Its all about how you list your auction. It depends on the price, photos, type of listing (auction vs BIN), length of listing... Some items it just flat out doesn't matter. But I have been sucessful in selling many of the items people listed over and over and never had the listing pulled due to VERO. |

| Vicvelcro | 05-08-2010 06:23 PM | Electronic muscle stimulators. The electric belts you wear around your biceps or waist that make your muscles flex. A couple of the manufacturers are very aggressive about watching sellers. Also, ebay has some very tight rules about selling TENS type devices.
Universal Studios watches listings closely, but if you are selling genuine product and it is a single used item (with a photo showing the open product - not stock photo or photo of product in shrink wrap), they don't slam you. If you list multiple quantity or list NEW or your photo is stock or shows the item still shrinkwrapped, they tend to VERO you. This applies to motion pictures (movies) and television episodes (box sets). |
| GreenBean | 05-08-2010 06:29 PM | @vicvelcro, ebay has very tight rules about doing veRo full stop. |
| Vicvelcro | 05-09-2010 12:31 AM | Indeed. But TENS devices have additional restrictions. Basically, they are no longer permitted.
In the past, there was no additional issue. They were not VERO items until unfortunate problems arose with imitation products.
TENS devices are very effective. However, a few knockoffs were poorly designed and certain amperage parameters were exceeded. This did cause some uncomfortable but minor skin burns. The genuine units were quite safe. However, the negative publicity influenced the genuine manufacturers to police the listings in an effort to eliminate the issue via the VERO program. It was unsuccessful. Some buyers of the imitation units filed lawsuits against the real companies, not knowing they had bought illegitimate items. Thus, those manufacturers sought a solution for the erroneous litigation. They easily discovered the VERO program, and signed on.
Now they are classified as medical devices by ebay. They are restricted. ebay implemented that policy pre-emptively to avoid being named as co-defendant in possible future litigation.
I just wanted to mention them earlier, just in case somebody were to consider selling those items in the future. No touchie! |
| art888 | 05-09-2010 02:21 AM | "Vicvelcro" posts are very helpful and knowledgeable |
| Vicvelcro | 05-09-2010 02:32 AM | Thank you art888. I truly try to be helpful. |
| oompaloompa | 05-09-2010 08:49 AM | uggs , ghd
vic, helpful, what an understatement.....wuv him |
| Vicvelcro | 05-09-2010 08:55 AM | Has anyone mentioned cocaine hydrochloride and methylenedioxymethamphetamine? I didn't know there was a trademark on those, but apparently some huge outfit I've never heard of named Cartel is convinced they have exclusive rights... |
| SlickJane | 05-09-2010 11:45 AM | GHD always got pulled right away, on ebay and amazon.
I sold Chi for several months, made a ton of money, and would get emails from other sellers all the time asking why I was able to sell these yet their listings were pulled down. I eventually got yanked, & letters from the lawyers. Fun while it lasted!
Zumba and P90x I would not recommend. Although with those, I was able to sell 50 or 100 before getting vero'd.
Slendertone and Disney DVD's, I was never vero'd for. |
| arshavin | 05-10-2010 08:22 AM | What a great thread. Once you guys run into trouble and get vero'd do you just start all over again on a new stealth account? Or carry on with current one if possible. |
| Vicvelcro | 05-10-2010 08:50 AM | I let the vero strike wear off before I use the account for any listing. Once the message no longer exists, I go back to listing with the account but only with safe items for at least 30 days. |
| ptenchick | 05-10-2010 10:57 AM | OMG!
Vero is so strict now...It means you can't sell anything on Ebay...even authentic single things... how are you supposed make some profit then? Selling underwear??? |
| Vicvelcro | 05-10-2010 11:08 AM | I doubt my BVDs would get much money...
To avoid listing your unmentionables, one must be creative.
I'm sure you've seen this often enough, but the answers are already here. Many discussions about this. Read more than one. It may become habit forming. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:36 PM. | |
