Need help!! Keep getting hit with copyright Violation!!

I have been opening stealth accounts and Evrytime now Im getting hit with Copyright and listing removed ... Im not doing anything different than I have done all year!!!

Get a few buying feedback up around 5

Stock Photo

List a couple DVD's

Then Bam !!!

Everytime now!!

Is it maybe because the other stuff Im adding on to the title... Like NEW and brand new??/

Im lost?

dchef2777 06-22-2010 01:26 PM

Its MCO19 and simply saying I have a limited selling history

and saying its the way I list the Item?

TGMT² 06-22-2010 01:32 PM

Stock photo's is probably a bad idea in that category on a new account.

Are you putting more than one available?

FYI: Putting "LIKE New" in the title is a violation of eBay policies...in case you were not aware.

EFIL4OREV 06-26-2010 12:18 AM

Is it against there policy if the item you listed is a used one but not used much? I have a couple personal items up in a new fresh account that i have listed as "like new" because they are!

TGMT² 06-26-2010 12:25 AM

^^^ It is OK to put "Like New" in the description, but not the title.

If you put that in the title, you my get hit with a "Keyword spamming" violation.

This has happened to me on one occasion.

If listing a used item, you cannot put the word "new" in the title. You CAN select "Like New" from the drop down menu they give you to describe the item condition.

I Now took my own photos and put simple Title and description and still.... Bam another 1 tonight!

Are they linking me or is it just a copyright thing. I dont get it?

If I called ebay would they tell me what Im doing wrong? as far as how to list?

dchef2777 06-27-2010 09:15 PM

Is the rights owner reporting me ? how do you know?

If the rights owner flags you, you would receive a VERO notice from eBay.

You said you are using your own photo. There are many dvd's and box sets that have packaging that was never made by the film studios. If your photo shows one of them known to eBay, they could remove it themselves. Newer accounts get scrutiny, especially when listing in a category that is a favorite of counterfeiters.

I think if they had linked you to another account, they would just close it.

Something in the listing has to be red-flagging it.

jeffweico 06-27-2010 09:31 PM

When you say you listed with a "stock photo" do you mean the ones that eBay has in its internal catalog, or a photo that you copied from the web?

slapped 06-27-2010 11:22 PM

I dont want get to deep into this Cause Im Tired.

When Ebay suspends an Account the have something like a "snap shot" of that accounts listings, When you List the Same Item, The Same way, with the Same Text, Photos, Layout, Spacing, Colors,Banners,Bullets, ect, ect in a Brand NEW Stealth Account You will have problems with that account. It is almost like the First step in Linking your New Account with a Suspended account. Continue doing similar things in your New Account that you have done in the Past and you will link that account further until Ebay feels that they have enough Evidence to Suspend you, if you do not give them enough evidence for suspension, but they have a High enough Probability, they will Limit you.

I would pull it off the web.. Now I have taken my own photo and clean the data on it using a program.

The last post has some good info...

If you are selling a DVD, why not just enter the UPC code and use eBay's data? Their picture, their description, etc. I wouldn't add a thing that is not pre-defined in a drop-down box. That way there is nothing suspicious and it will avoid VERO. Not GUARANTEED, but it decreases the risk.

If the eBay photo is different from how the box set you are selling looks, it is almost certain that it was never released by the studios that way - at least not in region 1. These are very obvious counterfeits, and I'm reasonably sure that eBay has a list of them and what they look like.

Try this.... Look up the DVD at Wal-Mart's website (or Best Buy or something). Then compare it to yours. Is there a difference?

This Does NOT work for a LOT Of titles, Big Box Stores Like Wal-Mart, Costco, Sams Club, Best Buy, K-Mart, VERY, VERY Often Have Manufactures Produce Boxsets for their COMPANY ONLY which Are available ONLY Thru THEIR Stores/Websites.

Big box Stores will Often Commit to a Large Number of Units at a VERY LOW Price, MUCH Cheaper than Other retail Outlets, So Manufactures in order to Justify or Protect those other Retail Outlets will Produce a Boxset with the Very same Content but in Different Packaging (Cheaper). Sometimes the DVD's themselves will be encoded differently (DVD5 as Opposed to DVD9) The Packages Can be Graphically Identical but Bigger or Smaller in Size so you Cannot See the Difference in a Photo, Have Different Graphics, Contain Different "Bonus" CD's or DVD's (or NOT Contain them), Booklets. Sometimes BigBox stores in the USA Get contracted to Liquidate Certain Boxsets that are Different that were produced for Sale in another Country. Sometimes Bigbox Stores have Boxsets that DO NOT EXIST Anywhere else. So Comparing to these guys IS NOT a Good idea.

Ebay, Amazon, are ON TOP of ALL This, and your Item Photos will Expose you. If Ebay asks you to produce an invoice of a Particular listing that they KNOW is ONLY Available in lets say Wal-Mart and you Probuce an Invoice from ANY Other Source to Show where you got that Particular Boxset,--What do think will happen to you Ebay Account?

If you want to Know for sure, GO TO THE SOURCE--The Manufacturer

I can List Countless Examples of these Types of Boxsets

Actually,DVD D5 quality is more and more better now,as the technogy is getting better.Of cource D9 is no.1 quality

YOu need to change your ad title, description, and resize and rename your pics.

It is best to copy the ad of a powerseller, selling the same item and then change around a couple of words.

jbluntz 08-23-2010 04:12 PM

Every boxset I've ever sold I use ebays stock photo and description, if you get the boxsets that have the same upc code that ebay uses and looks just like the stock photo then you should be good.

The beauty of Amazon for these types of items.
My experience is that they don't sell as fast, but usually bring more money.

What do you UK dvd sellers do to get around ebay and vero?

Unfortunatly region 2 looking boxsets are not available so we must sell boxsets thats have totally different looking boxes to the boxsets we can buy in the shops. So dvd sellers from the UK stick out like a sore thumb to vero.

What do we do to combat this?
