Clothes & US Customs

I sell some apparels on ebay . A buyer said they are not real, wanted to return them for refund.. I just gave him full refund. and then I got the message from him :

"I have been advised not to return the item as an investigation is pending regarding the sale of fraudulent apparel. US Customs has your information and will be contacting you. "

and then I asked him why US customs would contact me ? he said :

"I didn't contact them. I received a message after the transaction was cancelled and it had me select why it was cancelled. So I selected "merchandise not authentic" and received another message the next day stating that I shouldn't send the item back as an investigation is being conducted by US Customs. I have no idea anything else. Trust me I just want to send them back and not deal with any of this."

I know he is not lier, but what should I do now ? have anyone happened before ?

Whatever you are selling, I would stop.

Assuming the buyer is not lying to you, this sounds real. The only parties that would know about a sale AND a refund taking place are you, the buyer and eBay/PayPal.

I somehow don't see eBay mailing buyers and telling them that a US Customs investigation is going on, unless they absolutely had to. It just looks bad to buyers.

You hear all the time about flea markets being raided, but very little about eBay. Every once in awhile a major seller of counterfeits gets taken down, but this is rare. And everybody knows that eBay is absolutely flooded with counterfeit merchandise. So, it makes sense that sooner or later they would be targeted for a crackdown of some sort.

Ok, first thing is first, why did you refund the buyer before receiving the merchandise back?

Second, I have never heard of this kind of BS before. I for one have had many complaints about the authenticity of the items I sell and never once had this issue. Basically the buyer knows he/she does not need to return the merchandise now that they have received there refund.

Next time you receive a complaint, your best bet is just to lie that you didn't know what you were selling.

you might want to ask the buyer for a screenshot

Buyer is lying.. probably a competitor

if he cant provide a screen shot i would defiantly give ebay a call and even if it is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ convince them otherwise and that he is holding on to your merchendise and refuses it to send it back to you i mean hey theres not much they can do to you over the phone.....is there?
