2nd Vero hit - copyright violation

Today I got my 2nd copyright violation - "unauthorized listing content". Seems like I get them every few weeks or so, from one manufacturer or another. How worried should I be? So far I've just had to complete tutorials, but at what point does it move to suspensions?

durdajan 11-14-2011 03:56 PM

hi, if it's possible share the brand name please, just I'm interested not more

Chatterbox 11-14-2011 04:00 PM

Dewalt .....

durdajan 11-14-2011 04:05 PM

perhaps some brands are just against someone selling their product regardless if it's real or pheik and the only way to avoid it is to avoid selling it... they just spend money on adds and stuff and then all of a sudden someone is here to compite with their official sales. or become legit with them

Are you getting htem from dewalt? are you using their photos, text from websites, etc? all that matters.

kingray want to ask you do the items are ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or not?

If the items are genuine, you can show the invoice or any paper proof to them.

If they ask too much, just stop it and sell something else.Because they are not allow someone to sell it on line, you will have no chance to play with them easily.

DeWalt are an active member on ebay's VeRo list.

If you had researched your item correctly, that fact would have become known to you.

x2 violations has you on the brink of death of the account.

Stop selling dewalt now.:juggle:

any brand name on the above list will have your first born AND your account without caring.

I swear there is more than just on that list - I am sure I got one from Philip Morris because something I was selling had a Marlboro logo on it...

So - if someone is selling something "replicated" but it's not on that list will they get away with it?

GreenBean 11-15-2011 03:41 AM

Nope. Because there are 'silent' IP rights holders*** who kill accounts as well.

In the case of Philip Morris they do not bother to 'belong' to VeRo groups. They categorically forbid selling of items with their logo or associated ones.

***IP holders os defined here as Intellectual Property rights.

This is also complicated by which of the ebay selling platforms gets used. ebay.com has different rules from ebay.co.uk & reverse.:pop2:

I had 3 violations before I was chucked on a two year old account in good standing. You can be suspended with even one though.

I would tread very carefully with that account now.

Chatterbox 11-15-2011 10:05 AM

The items were real, the pictures and description were from Dewalt though. I've gone through the Vero list and stop listing anything from any companies on it...hopefully this would give me breathing space to age out the previous 2 warnings. Has anybody done the VERO counter claim form?

rsot 11-15-2011 02:18 PM

Are there ACTUALLY DeW alt knock-offs?!? ...yikes

oompaloompa 11-15-2011 04:14 PM

yes rsot I saw a program on it here in UK, scary, professional tree cutters/saws/tools all counterfeit big name brands, and dangerous as the safety features were non existant or fell apart, they sell them on the street or at markets but no reason why they should not be online too.... I have no probs with throw away fashion no big deal, but f akes that can be dangerous that sux...

the thing with vero is they can be real but there are reasons why the owner does not want it sold in tht country or at all. I think this is unfair, but if you have been through all the contacting of the owner, that is all you can do, better to stop or account goes down. I have been though this myself, it is how I lost my original accs. The owner knew they were real as I had proof and actually went to the HQ in person, they acted like it was all fine but somehow my acc got taken down with strike after strike, guess who was behind that? They may not say in writing you cannot list but they do not want you to, and they know they can be legally challenged if they openly say you cannot without good legal reason. there are alot of grey areas too. hard truth. very few take them on....I did not do an official counter claim, I went via email and letters/calls, maybe see tabberones site on this and good luck....your own pics might be worth doing, but tbh on your second strike you are playing with the dice on a relist...

Anything single product worth hundreds of dollars can and is replicated. I don't care what it is, big or small. Size of a car or small as a thumbtack, the counter f e i t e r s follow the money no matter where it is.

Last year, it was reported this trade moved over half a trillion dollars, nearly double the d r u g trade. That should explain enough.
