Vero more likely on sold item?

I've 2x MC019 Vero takedowns and had a couple of items taken down each time.
I noticed that most of the items they take down were already sold.
I'm wondering if the Vero agents search for completed listings??

Also, I've just encountered something kinda strange.
I had an agent for brand X take down 1 brand X listing and 1 brand Y listing.
Why did brand X agent also take down brand Y??
Could brand X agent also be the agent for brand Y although brand Y was not mentioned in her "About Me" page?
They are pretty similar type brands in the same category of goods though.

Do Vero agents flag you once they take down your items and look out for you again?

Keyword search on their software brings up all items with their companies products and they have the right to remove.

To answer your other question, Brand X and Brand Y could be owned by the same company.

O yeah! You get flagged and the account can be looked at for up to 8 weeks.
So sold listings get touched.

Did you read anything here about 'resting' the account after the 1st takedown?:rip:

I think you need to do some serious reading about veRo. Holders of IP rights have no obligation to list their rights on ebay.

99% of the time if the item is a brand name there is a IP rights holder who has the legal right to get your listing removed. You MUST MUST cover that before you list items :juggle:

Probably time to move on from that account, and also learn to do it the right way.

I know a right way to sell... I got my account from below standards (that was due to a circumstantial issue not my fault) to above standards within 1 month of selling!
That must say something about knowing how to sell on eBay.

But selling Vero... Is there a right way to sell Vero?
There is always the risk there... you can get a takedown no matter what you do.
Yes, the strategy is to create many stealths to spread risk...
I'm getting onto that now.

This was the first takedown of this brand.
Previous takedown was of another brand and totally different item so I stopped selling anything of that brand totally.

I know they don't have to list their rights.
The thing is, this Vero agent has an "About Me" page on eBay, as some of them do. On the page, they listed a number of brands that came under them, which included brand X but not brand Y.
So I found it odd that if brand Y was also under them, and since they listed these other brands that they owned, why didn't they also list brand Y?

BubbleTea 07-07-2012 08:36 PM

By the way, is a Vero takedown more likely on a short duration auction or a long duration one?
Or it does not matter at all? :>

There is a correct way, and that is not to sell it. Continue your ways and you will continue a viscous circle of getting suspended and creating new account, or worse have a little chat with the rights owner. Tip #1 - If it isnt maintainable it isnt realistic.

You are missing the point..............

It was a take down. It marked your account.

The account is damaged.

VeRo is not laid out in black and white.:ranger:

You're being a little too stubborn for your own good (said with a big smile.)
A branded item is more than likely VeRo. Care needs to be taken or you get caught.

Unless this is a ps account you have pushed your boundaries. Regardless, your account is weak. Any selling should be confined to safe boring items.

People who sell vero will ask the same question 100 times and as long as one person gives them the answer they were looking for, then they are satisfied.

BubbleTea 07-08-2012 01:11 PM

Well, I'm not trying to "get" an answer I want here as there is no particular answer I am looking for.

This whole Vero thing is new to me and yes, I didn't get it and I didn't understand what was happening when it happened to me the first time.

The total selling time I've had on eBay is less than a year but I am learning as much as I can from these forums and ebay discussion boards and websites like auctionbytes.

eBay has lots of 'hidden rules' (and I'm not just talking about Vero here) and its a tricky game to play. I'm just trying to learn the rules and play the game well.

I'm understanding it a bit better now... so I see this account is no good any more. I will look for non-brand items to sell on it.
