VeRo question

So, i was selling branded items on ebay about 8 months ago, they got removed by vero. And i kept an eye on the items, when other sellers listed them, they were removed within 3 days. Now when i check, it seems vero are not bothering anymore, Could this be the case? Because its an accessory for iphone 4, now the iphone 5 is out, would they not bother with the Iphone 4 and just focus on the 5? These are not apple. Theres items on there that have been on over a month, and not removed. thanks

MM78 04-26-2013 11:09 AM

Everything is possible, list at your discretion.

rsot 04-26-2013 12:45 PM

MM78 makes a nice diplomatic point but dont forget that eB can strike you in the past and remove listing for up to 90 days prior. Just because people are getting away with selling some namebranded items does not necessarily mean it will last.

That being said, it it aint broken...dont fix it. Good luck on continued sales but ALWAYS have backup accounts and spread the sales.

JamesNorth101 04-26-2013 03:05 PM

On my old EB account before it was limited I was able to sell Apple iPhone 5 cases and other things from December 2012 until about a month ago (account was not limited for these sales)

rsot 04-26-2013 03:34 PM

So you are saying that eB finally caught up to you and suspended?

AmazonStealth 04-26-2013 10:51 PM

Odds are not in your favor, and the cons outweigh the risk. If the company makes items for iphone 4 they sure as hell make them for iphone 5. Which means when they are flagging items with their brand name you will go down.

Just got VERO'd today for Lightning cables. 30-Days Restriction. I specifically mention it's Generic in many places but what can you do.

GreenBean 04-26-2013 11:44 PM

@100HRWEEK

Not list cables, for starters.

There is a listing war ( of sorts) with 'cables' right now on both ebay USA & ebay UK.

Takes a strong account to workaround the restrictions.

:juggle:

100HRWEEK 04-27-2013 01:20 AM

It's interesting, these cables bring in so little revenue, but at the same time bring in so much problems to my account it's disgusting. I had been pushing them since November, but every month I'm having more and more problems. Last month, I got a 7 day restriction. This month, they put me on a 30 day restriction. Once I'm done with this batch, which is around another 400-500, I'm done with them. Let's just hope the account makes it pass that.

P.S. I try my hardest to push them as generic. I hate selling "APLE" stuff. I don't mention them anywhere in ad, or any word. The "Lightning" in the title is the problem.

Now I know why I dont even mess with electronics unless it is vintage stuff with some good profits.

Not worth the hassle.

No, my account was suspended for an unrelated reason. Linked back to a very old account of mine that was suspended that I had forgotten about and eventually got linked. Entirely my own mistake.

All the iPhone and cell phone accessories sound like a headache based on all the user posts on this site.

That's rough but stealth is good to start with. Live and learn.

As for the other posts on cables, everybody tries to sell them - so much competition and ragging on each other...nightmare

And I dont mess with those items either.

Although some do very well in these areas. Good for them I say.

eBay sellers are extremely uneducated with pricing. There are everyone and their mom selling cables, and adapters. They keep fighting with each other bringing in the price lower and the customer is the only one loving it. Every time I do a search to see how the prices are across the board, I see some idiot is offering it at insane prices. I sometimes question how they even make any profit. Their margins are 20cent a cable.

Drop shipping is the best option with these. I haven't changed my price, and I'm still offering my November prices. When I ran out of inventory, I just use some new account idiot who is selling them and complete my buyers order. I still currently have my own inventory, but that's my plan afterwards.

rsot 04-27-2013 07:22 PM

That was funny but yet true - might as well profit off of the price differential.

I buy a ton of items off ebay for re sale. Every category has something and I esp love those sellers who list something at 3 am for 0.99 and ends at 3 am for 0.99.

Damn....

I should not have said anything.

I loved those 3-4 am ending deals and the stupid profits.

Guess  I will have to stop looking at the ending today thing when I am on at that time.
