Refused letter from Johnson & Pham
Hi,
Few days ago, I received US Customs Seizure letter containing case number, my name and address.
The letter states that I have an incoming package contains 24 counterfeit items (Otterbox) coming from outside USA, and there is a form I should complete and mail it back to US Customs and Border protection.
In the matter of fact, I did not order anything outside USA lately, and I do not usually purchase items outside USA, most of my purchases are bought from US merchants.
I am not a big fan of Otterbox products anyway.
I have some friends living overseas have my name and address, but unfortunately the letter does not mention the sender information (name and place).
I sent a letter to US Customs explaining that.
Today, Fedex tried to deliver me a certified mail from Johnson & Pham, but I refused to sign it.
I did some research online, they usually ask for fines from $5,000 up to $20,000.
But I did not buy or sell any Otterbox products.
I'm freaked out, I cannot handle that fine.
What should I do in this case?
Please help.
In the meantime, I will contact some attorneys in my area.
Thanks
