MC019....Just a quick question

I have a MC019 which states the following:

Avoid violating this policy again and your account will be clear of this violation after 19-Jun-13.

Now it is the 20th but still showing on the account??!

When/if it does go away does that still count on my account for any future issues?

Thanks

Once your account is flagged you always will need to proceeded with caution nothing is ever wiped clean. Ebay and Paypal love storing data and records on us sellers. Just create more stealth accounts and let that one cool down for awhile

Dmshark25 is correct. eBay, PayPal and Amazon keep a record of EVERYTHING and they keep them forever. Let's say you changed your credit card on file 4 times in 8 years. Even though the old information does not show up on your account, they DO have it stored and can access it.

Back in the day, companies had to pick and choose what data they would store as the storage of data cost a lot of money. Now, however, drive space is dirt cheap.

EB and PP hoard information. It will always be there for EB to see, so be careful, but you are past imminent danger.

Thanks,

Its now gone from my account.

I had a 10 year old account once which was my original account, and towards the end i got a heap of vero strikes. Ebay called me to say im banned for good and they even went through all the strikes on my account from 10 years ago! from when i first joined ebay and got a vero strike from tomtom for silly things.

Can they legally keep information about us over 6 years??!?!?!

They have offices overseas in the Philippines where they can keep information forever that's why h should never give any important personal info like your SS# for those in the US

Here in the UK im pretty sure its illegal to store information on a individual for over 6 years. That includes holding information in a country that has less security / data protection as the UK.

Yes in the States it's 7 years but I'd never give any personal info to someone not even in this country

PP has long been known to operate outside jurisdictional law - they are based in other countries too and can operate in the grey zone...

In the USA, a business can retain records for as long as they like.

Where people get confused about 7 years, there is a 7 year reporting time limit for bad credit. So, after 7 years, any unpaid accounts fall off your credit report. Businesses here are advised by the IRS to save all receipts and records for 6 years. But there is no law limiting the time a business is allowed to keep information on file.

I have no idea what the law is in the UK regarding this.

They can do whatever they want

They will do what they want to protect their own backs.

Your job is to operate your account in such a way as to not be flagged

All of those strikes can still damage your account in months to come. This can happen even if they are gone from your sellers' dashboard
