I did find one thing out. With Photobucket your USER name is embedded towards the end of the direct URL for the image. This may be a bust.

But with ImageShack, see here,
Insider Information on eBay Suspensions
that is not the case.

So, do NOT use photobucket. Imageshack better.

photobucket does put your user name in there somewhere. i would recommend getting a different account (i think they are free anyway)

got this info from that tcho guy

qoute:

The url thing is the same subdomain (or whatever you call it) as an older account. So say you had a geocities account (substitute whatever it is you kids use these days) and you hosted images from there, it'd be a link. So say you used www.geocities.com/mysite/image1.jpg from an earlier account and it got suspended. So you created a new account and you used www.geocities.com/mysite/image2.jpg, well it's the same url just different pic, so you're screwed. But say you used www.geocities.com/diffsite/image1.jpg, then that can't link you (although if the pics are the same that's a different proof in itself).

Default using the same pictures from old suspended listings?

i have 100's of images to list and sell in quanity. i use to first upload my new item through auctiva, then relist through turbo lister and this is how i basically established my store and then had it on automatic relist which was awsome.. well, i wont be doing turbo lister anymore. but will the hosting link for the picture wave a flag at ebay since its the same pictures that were used from the suspended account? when i upload the pics from my computer to my new auctiva, it will have the same name/ or link.. will that matter??

I HAVE READ FOR HOURS FOR THIS BEFORE ASKING, SO DONT SCOLD ME AND TELL ME TO GO READ.

while im at it, is there a significant difference between aol 9.0 and 9.1 that im reading about.

and if anyone wants to offer 1 on 1 help please welcome me. ive pretty much got the basics down, but as i read, another ? will pop in my head and its a domino effect and im afraid to be a repeat ?'er as it seems all the old timers are sick of the newbies and the same'ol ?'s. of all my "real" friends.. im the only one a suspension has happend to.. so im kind of alone except for you guys.

Yes. There is a definite definite chance that you will be linked/recognised.
When you become the 'new you' on ebay, you have to do the lot again. Using
the same listings picture for picture, word for word makes the flags go up, you
get linked, you get suspended.
I can't answer about AOL as I hate it with a passion. I use dial up
Also, I wrote a pm to you as an apology.

I use the same pictures. You can reload the pictures from you PC to auctiva and write a new auction descriptions. I have 30 auctiva accounts.

Chill out, he's not out to scold anyone

I would definitely reccomend using new photos, unless you are using stock photos that lots of other people are using. Also, do NOT use the same hosting. Either host freely, or open up a store and host via there.

As far as I can tell you don't get linked thru pictures. I use the same pictures over and over. I do get a little paranoid but in the end that is the last thing that gets me booted.

I use the same pictures, the same text, on several accounts. When one goes down, the others are still fine. I've had one go down and on the same day I listed with the same words and images on another account and it's still going after 3+ months. I don't think they link anything with images or text.

The only way that happens is if you have a competitor or stalkerish buyer reporting your listings all the time.

HI, Just a friendly input from another user...
I cannot use the same pics.. every time i do, it links somehow.
I have some real good photos from 2005/2006 that a frined helped me do real closeups, I have a hard time, even using the macro lens.
So- i know those photos bring better money to the auctions, but when i throw them up, and even mix in some newer ones, i get the axe..
So, for me it doesnt work..BUT, for example, I have alot of one of a kind items, so its kinda obvious, so someone must look ??
--example Limited edition Artist Painting, LTD ED # 31 out of 240. NOW< I'm the only one with #31....so is obvious... Good Luck you guys who can recycle, as its a pain )

I try to mix it up whenever I have to create a new account. But lately I've determined that the issue is WHAT you sell - if you sell what they think are "high risk" goods, doesn't matter what you do you will come under high scrutiny.

And if you sell "low risk" goods, as long as you follow the basic formula we advocate here, EBAY will rarely suspend you.

Where can you find out all the things that eBay considers "high risk"?

i dont get why people are so hard on other people for asking stupid questions. it might take an expert literally 30 seconds to answer a question and save the poor person hours of searching through the forum....

anyway, i use old pics on new accounts, but i resize the images and save them in a little bit worse quality so that the size and dimensions are different, then i also go into photoshop and paint around the item using some random color so it looks even more different. works for me.
