i dont really know why he said that.
All banks are the same.
Savings dont harm your credit report, but current acc's do.
I wouldnt open too many anyway because they may feel there's fraud going on.

Default Paypal limited but still able to Withdraw Funds

Yesterday, I woke up to a notification from Paypal

Quote:
PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information to help us provide you with secure service. We would like to return your account to regular standing as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Why do I need to provide additional information about my account?

We require additional information about your account for the following reason(s):

# Jun. 29, 2008: PayPal occasionally performs credit checks on selected account holders. Your account has been selected to go through this process. We must complete a credit review in order for the warning on your account to be lifted. In most cases, the account holder's personal credit is analyzed using a Social Security number and an address likely to generate a match with a credit bureau. Please log into your PayPal account to provide this information. If an examination of your business credit would be more appropriate, please contact our customer service department to supply your Tax ID number.
Of course the first thing on my mind was "I bet they reversed the funds I withdrew to my bank account yesterday." And guess what, the withdraw request was still "pending" status. I checked today and it is now marked "completed." Then I still received well over $1000 in it from yesterday until today, so I tried a electronic funds transfer thinking it will give me the message to stop me, and it DID NOT. This is the weirdest limitation I've ever received.

no offense to you because i had the same thing happen to me but you should really be quiet about it until they completely limit you...its one of those loophole crazy moments that if paypal realizes that they will fix it.

Default Limited and cannot withdraw - did 2/3 steps

Hi, I am limited and cannot withdraw money. I did a withdraw and it was reversed and then I was limited. I needed to do 3 things to remove limitations:

1) Confirm addy - added the CC to confirm addy - done

2) SS# - I don't want to give it - not done

3) Provide Tracking Info - I provided all tracking #s - done

Is there anyway I can get the limitation lifted without giving my SS#. I read a few posts that kind of hinted towards that, but I cannot find any steps to do this.

Please help, thanks!

Theres a good chance to get it lifted. But what you need to do is call Paypal. I have solved alot of problems just by calling. Make sure you have your account info right in front of you. Then after calling and they didn't lift it on the phone email appeal@paypal.com.

When I call, should I tell them I don't want to give my SSN and expect them to offer me something else or just reinstate me?

Tell them you would not like to reveal your ssn # because of indetity fraud. See what paypal says maybe they will give you another option.

I have done it once, but there is absolutely no chance if you're using an account with made up information. With the account that they did let it go, the name on the account as well as the address all matched up and the phone also to a real person.

Arrow A way to avoid limitation

Hi all,

I was limited by paypal a dozen times. Recently, I have an account which was verified in every aspect. I also applied for Paypal debit card. That was amazing that I seemed immune from dispute. I usually got 3 dispute per month which I took care of them of course. In past, this kind of situation would instantly limit my account but not this time. My paypal account is still alive with reputation of 130. I think the reason behind this is that the debit card confirms your name and address without any doubts whenever you use it. Just to share with you guys. This might help.

Mate there are no miracles in paypal ;-)

Debit card means nothing , dont even think for a moment that your pp acc

is bulletproof. They hit you when you feel safe and have sweet dreams

better invest in learning the system instead of believe in miracles ;-)

Fastgold is right, never get too comfortable just because you have the PP debit card.

Matter of fact a few people on this board mentioned PP held their funds or made funds not available when trying to use they tried using their cards at a store or gas station.

PP/eBay can shut you down on a whim and without warning.

Everytime I log into my PP account I think today is the day they're going to get me.
So far so good but I know my time is coming that's why I'm now accepting USPS money orders and trying to direct my customers to use Google Checkout.

thanks for the input

I just posted my experience here and there is some difference. Besides, I never put too much money in PP. How do you direct google checkout without letting ebay knowing it?

Hi Guys--I have several of the pp debit cards--and just like Amex--
they will shut you down if the exposures too large..
