I have a question, what prevent paypal from asking for SSN when you first sign up?
why do they wait till they limit you then they ask for it?
is it illegal for them to ask when you sign up?
I am only asking this because I fear the day they will start asking for SSN when you sign up, so I hope it will never come

Eureka! I believe I have a solution to this. I believe I have created a U.S. PayPal account that will not be limited, and will not have to supply a social security number. So far, so good. But, I will continue testing it with heavy activity and withdrawals to be sure. But in theory, my idea is sound. Stand by.

Has anyone had or having experience with this before. I seen several people get hit with this recently as I did. Still able to take out money but for how long until they zap it. Thanks in advance.

Default Another victim! help needed desperately

Hi all, sorry to burden you and I am sure these questions are answered in the blog but I need immediate help as I am at work and no time to read all of them.
Problem is I followed the instructions and created my ebay account sveral weeks ago bought some stuff and built up my rating to 22 positive feedbacks and I felt it was time to open a paypal account and start selling again.
So last week I started selling sole ink crtridges and all was well and they paid me and then I sold a new laptop for $1400 and I received my suspension notice. I could have died. I verified my simon card on paypal and all that good stuff but I did not have a bank account. So now they want a bank account and my social.
questions:
1. am I dead due to the social security number thing? (is there a way around it)
2. If I do work through the social and I open an account I cant possibly open it under my fake name that I gave ebay and paypal so how do I open it?

Thanks folks I appreciate it.

Crafton - You DO NOT need a social to verify your PP account, you can do one out of three things to get verified:
1. Give them your social (not recommended)
2. Verify the two small deposits in your bank account.
3. Give them the 4 digit expanded use number.

Everyone here does #2 and #3.

ebayhateluv made a good post about this a few months back.

Paypal "Trick" New/Old--Verify Debit CARD!!! :))

Hi lisa,

Can you kindly clarify this, once you get limited the first time do you need to provide an SSN?

If you do the bank deposits and expanded use can you avoid the SSN requirement?

If SSN is inevitable then when likely do they ask for this, i.e. during first or second limitation?

Apparently Modee is working on a solution for the no SSN requirement for PayPal. THEY WILL ASK FOR IT NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. It may take a week, or a month, but they will ask for it.

I think there is way to set up a Canadian PayPal, but you need an address and IP from canada and possibly Canadian government ID for it to work.

The SSN requirement makes it next to impossible to create multiple accounts - I hope a solution can be found to counter this.

yes I was wondering the same exact thing.
If we have the same fake name, addy for ebay and paypal and then in a matter of weeks or months paypal asks for the SS# and bank info obviously you can't give the same fake info to open a new bank account and even if you could the SS# is going to be the deal breaker anyway.
also when you buy stuff unless you inform the seller you want it shipped to your real name, addy, not the fake one how are you going to receive items you are buying. I think you can say its a gift please send to (my real name, addy).
It just seems like the SS# is going to be the nail in all our coffins.
Even if you can get one from a dead relative you would have to use that persons name and start all over.

Still working as an absolute cure - so far, so good, but even my long list of older techniques to "delay the inevitable" is working too.

Still testing that one, and still so far so good, but I came up with a new solution that works 100%, money back guarantee on this particular technique. PM me privately for details.

I am new to this board but I have read EBAY STEALTH top to bottom a few times and I am getting a bead on how to set up a new eBay account after being suspended for life - for basically no reason except I was selling "high risk" items - that were 100% genuine! I know, you've all heard this before. Anyway, since eBay and PAYPAL are so closely linked -and eBay requires all new sellers to have PAYPAL - I don't want to get tripped up here. I was going to open my new eBay and PAYPAL accounts as Business accounts and use a made up name as the contact. The problem is that I cannot provide a SS# with a made up name if problems come up with PAYPAL. Should I use one of my kids names instead as the Business contact so I can produce a SS# if necessary? I will have my bank account also under this same Business umbrella (and under my kids name if necessary) - so I will be able to produce a piece of mail with the info on it if I get limited too. ( Been there, done that.) The only thing I will not be able to produce is a photo ID for the Business contact because my children are minors. I cannot find a link here that discusses the option of setting all this up as Business accounts. Is this a bad idea? I am getting ready to go to the bank to set up this new account but I want to do it right before I link it to a new PAYPAL account - which I will set up next. I think that I have everything else covered but with bank accounts - I will have to provide real, verifiable info - and if PAYPAL ever gets suspicious - I will have to provide verifiable info to them. How do they do this with a Business account? (I am going to open a Merchant account too - but I am under the impression that you have to have 100+ feedback before you can accept any other forms of payment than PAYPAL.) eBay is closing the gap.
cK
