Activity: 0% Longevity: 72% | | PayPal not holding payments ?
Hi guys, I just made a stealth eBay account, my 5th one, and a new PayPal account last week. I sold 3 items so far and the all 3 payments for those items cleared immediately in PayPal as oppose to holding them for 21 days and I was able to withdraw all 3 payments into my bank account. I don't know what's going on but I'm not complaining. Did something like this happened to anyone else?

Is this one of the accounts with small limits of 5 or 10 items?
I get some with no holds at all once in a while so you might have got lucky or just did very well building it.

Yes, I can only sell 10 items per month on the new account, but I can easily increase it by linking it to one of my older stealth with 150 items limit. Will PayPal start holding my payments if I link the accounts? I don't have any payment holds on my old account, but I parking it for 3 months because I got way too many eBay policy violations selling vero items. Btw, I made other stealth accounts before, but this is the only account so far with no payment holds right out of the box.

Nothing special happened. On new or long term inactive accounts, the holds can literally come at any time. You may be fine this month, then slapped with the hold next month. It's like a 35 evaluation period I believe and it is random as hell.

I wonder if there is a method to the madness when it comes to holding payments. What kind of item did you sell? and what was the price range?
I recently sold an authentic pair of designer shoes for about $250 and they are holding my payment, maybe they want to make sure the item is authentic?

I mostly sale Couch products, software activation codes, and occasionally a Gucci bag or two. So yea, basiclly everything I sale is against eBay policies, but I keep doing it because the money is too good.

I would honestly be more worried about a ban rather then payments being placed on hold...
But, I got a no holds account out of 5 of the 20 accounts I made this morning.

Wow congrats, are we seeing a change in eBay policy? I'm gonna make some new accounts and see what happens.

If you're concerned about PayPal not holding your payments, you should give them a call and they can place a manual hold on all payments for you. | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to imjustme For This Useful Post: | |

What you have to watch for is if you sell a higher priced item and they slap it back on.

Hey guys, I noticed one other thing, the limit eBay put on categories has been lowered. I used to be able to list 5 video games per month on New accounts and now was able to only list one. So I guess this is eBay's new strategy, lessen fund holds but put in place more stringent limit on certain high risk categories. I guess they finally seem to realize pissed off sellers are less likely to use eBay which equal to less revenue for the company

They want to be in control totally and if they do something like this thread is about then you can bet they will find another way to limit you somehow.
