| RustyShackelford | 09-02-2018 01:27 PM | Amazon on virtual machines I never had a az account on a virtual machine. Being how I want to start traveling for long periods of time. Carrying 4-5 laptops seems crazy. As for a virtual machine, how many can I run on one laptop. What kind of ram, processsor etc would I need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Beautiful | 09-03-2018 12:28 PM | Re: Amazon on virtual machines If you plan on operating multiple virtual machines, say less than 10 shops, get yourself a SSD drive.
i5+ and SSD with good ram and you'll be cruising
If you're going to be using more shops, get a larger SSD drive, i7, max ram etc |
Re: Amazon on virtual machines Also, having 20 shops on a VMWare isn't insane or nuts.....running all 20 at the same time might. I run all my ebay, and other selling platforms on VMWare....but I only really have 1-3 VMWares open at any given time.
Also, I run OS's that are not going to need a lot of resources. This may drive some people nuts but Windows XP will do the job. Some say, but what about security? wtf...I'm not going onto Porn sites, or trying to do some weird ****.....I don't run any Antivirus, not had a problem. |

They stopped the service because they said I had a virus. So I checked and indeed one of my VM's got infected.
Be careful when running Win XP without antivirus. I have accessed, gmail, ebay, etsy and amz only. And 2 of my win XP VMs had a virus. The host machine and the other guests weren't infected. Win 7 and win vista no problems.
:focus:
On a decent laptop 10 VMs are absolutely no problem, especially if you acces the one after another. :thumb: |

Beautiful | 11-10-2018 01:15 PM | Re: Amazon on virtual machines They shouldn't be that big, you can custom make them to have the minimum requirements
Also depends on the operating system you're using, some significantly smaller than others |

Beautiful | 11-20-2018 03:05 PM | Re: Amazon on virtual machines I prefer linux as well for the speed/small size but gotta realize your fingerprint is pretty unique using linux, just keep that in mind if you plan on having many stores |
shenzhenthor | 11-21-2018 07:25 PM | Re: Amazon on virtual machines I use a macbook pro with VmWare, and have a SSD for my live accounts I am in and out of on a regular basis, and just an 8 TB external for keeping all of my historical, accounts in process on etc. Your really never going to have more than 1 account open at any time, and if you gives 2-4 cores, and 4 gb of ram to Windows 10 it runs great. |

It's an OS used mostly by 'hacker-friendly' people and tech enthusiasts.
Windows/Mac are however more general public.
So I'd rather mix it up with Windows in some ratio, like 6 windows machines, 1 linux. Or etc. ;) |

amena | 12-04-2018 11:08 PM | Re: Amazon on virtual machines So far as I know Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is the Amazon Web Service you use to create and run virtual machines in the cloud with at least 7 virtual machine |
