Stopping Abusive Buyers on Amazon

There is a buyer who previously ordered from my store, & returned the item damaged and with missing pieces. The buyer also filed an immediate A to Z and 1 out of 5 feedback immediately. I had it removed and reported the buyer to amazon.

The buyer is continuing to send harassing profane messages and is ordering repeatedly from my store. I have to cancel his order because I know he steals, but everytime I cancel he places another order. I currently have 6 orders from this buyer in my open orders. If I keep cancelling it will hurt my metrics? What should I do? How do I stop this abusive buyer? I absolute will not ship to this person, even with shipping confirmation. Unfortunately, abusive buyers cannot be blocked on Amazon.

Once again I stumble upon an old thread. I wish you had received comments on this as this is something bothersome :(

I have a buyer, I think a competitor that I report, they are subtle and they only order occasionally and starts a claim, I reported them, but nothing ever happens...it slightly affects my metrics when i have to cancel or if I ship and then get a claim....

I have noticed that Amazon doesn't seem to do ANYTHING when you need them.

Re: Stopping Abusive Buyers on Amazon

I have 5 claims of not receiving items today.
They all delivered as USPS tracking shows.
These claims disappear a short period of time, and now resurface.

The thing is , if I send signature confirmation, these buyers will simply refuse the package, then file. a claim. and if I send without signature confirmation, they claim not receive.
Either way I lose.

Oh, doing business on AMAZON is really painful.
eBay is much much better because I can block all these buyers, but in AMAZON, they can come back again and again using the same scheme and win all the time.

Seems like your items/niche is attracting scam buyers....happens with really hot/popular listings

best way to prevent this is to require signature. you still get the people who swap the stuff and return a broken item although.

Actually, AMAZON scammers will refuse packages requires signature, or claim not receiving if no signature required. Either way, Sellers lose.

Re: Stopping Abusive Buyers on Amazon

Haha .... I just won the AMAZON AZ claim as "item not received" .. this is rare ...
I send order out with signature confirmation.
USPS did not get the signature confirmation at the 1st delivery.
Then buyer rescheduled the delivery, and filed AZ claim against me.
I know this is a trick, buyer is waiting for AMAZON to issue refund then go pick up the package so he can get this package for free.
But I present to AMAZON, very carefuly, stated "buyer probably needs more time to sign for the package"
After 10 days
Guess what ? I won the case, AMAZON refused to refund the buyer and this AZ claim will not impact my performance metrics
The package is still not been claimed, but I earned the payment and no performance metrics impact ....

I think the trick here is , when we sellers present to AMAZON, do not include any statement implying buyer's fault, do not accuse buyers.
AMAZON simply do not like sellers blaming on buyers

Also, AMAZON now probably starts paying attention to this kind of buyer scam.

Here you go, email from AMAZON

"Hello,

We have denied the customer’s A-to-z Guarantee claim of $44.19 on order 1xx-62xxxxx-xxxxxxx. This claim will not impact your performance metrics.

We do not need any further action from you."

Had a similiar issue - customer orders items from me then returns them after a month after he finished reading them treating my business as a library. He did this for 5 different items over a few months and would invent problems to try and illicit concessions from me.

Only thing you can do is report the seller to Amazon. I tried to find a way to "block" a buyer from buying from me but that is not possible.

Re: Stopping Abusive Buyers on Amazon

Unfortunately there's no option to block buyers.

And Amazon takes reports from multiple sellers before they actually ban these bottom feeders.

Another thing also is if he does this alot, he'll get a "warning"......
