Default The velocity limit and longevity

I've understand the new seller velocity limit to be under $750/month at least for several months while you establish a history of positive feedback.

That said, if you keep your sales under that threshold, maintain positive feedback and other selling metrics are in line, regardless of what products you are selling can you reasonably assume you can keep the account intact without review or banning?

Thoughts?

Thanks

My thoughts are it's not "regardless of what products you are selling". As long as you don't ruffle feathers, your approach will work.

Dabble in VeRo...and you might have problems regardless.

In addition to this question....

Can you sell vero items multiple times after the first intial (I'm selling my 'used' item) listing.. if so what is the suggested period in between sales for them. Also is it a good idea to sell several days before your settlement so there's less chance they will hold your money?

It is Actually $250.00 in 10 day Blocks, Which is about $750.00 a Month, this is BEFORE you get your First MC10.

When you get that first MC10 it will all depend on what information Ebay asks you to Provide and what you are selling.

Always ask the Ebay rep about your Selling Limits when they Call you for your First MC10, you CAN Negotiate them, I have Many times.

As for staying below the $250.00 per 10 day Block in order to Avoid an MC10, It might work for a while, but at some point you will get an MC10 limitation, I am Pretty sure of that.

Amazon is much tougher than eBay is, especially on users selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Even having genuine items is no guarantee that you will not lose an account. With Amazon, it is not just staying under a "velocity" limit. It is also about avoiding ANY customer complaints.

For example, if you sell DVD's, new or used, a few complaints of non-working discs, or an accusation of selling counterfeit items is enough to lose the account. That holds true with ANY high-risk items.

If you don't know if your items are considered "high-risk" just look at DHgate. If they are being sold on DHgate, they are most likely deemed high-risk by Amazon.

Staying under the radar may help, but is not a guarantee of success. On the other hand, registering with them and listing 30 high-risk items the first month is a sure way to get banned VERY QUICKLY.

I don't know that it matters so much what the sale date is in relation to the payout date, but I am not 100% certain of that. But here is my best advice for being successful on Amazon:

1) Sell ONLY high-quality items
2) ALWAYS input a tracking number when you ship an item.
3) NEVER delay shipping for any reason. If you are in a car crash, and your leg is broken, hobble on down to the post office anyway. Fast shipping is CRITICAL on Amazon.
4) ALWAYS answer any customer inquiries quickly, politely, and professionally.
5) If a customer wants a refund, issue it immediately. Amazon has a mandatory 30 day return period, so specifying "no returns" or 7 days will not work.
6) NEVER allow anything to escalate to an A-Z Guarantee claim.
7) If you receive any harrassing emails from another user, NEVER respond. These are much different than questions from legitimate customers or potential purchasers. You will know what I'm talking about when you receive one. And you WILL!
8) NEVER be argumentative with Amazon or it's employees. Make any points PROFESSIONALLY. For example, if contacted about a shipping issue, don't respond with something like "what the hell do you want from me, I don't control UPS!"

Amazon wants grown-up sellers of legitimate goods, with a good customer focus and a business-like but polite approach. Acting like you belong in high school, or like you just escaped from the looney bin will get you shut down instantly.

what should I do about the velocity limit if my item is priced over 2000$? Fortunately it is not software or any dhgate kind of stuff.. actually its completely legitimate although I am taking advantage of the EU price vs the USA price. So no warranty, "grey market" I guess they call it.

def. going slow helps. I usually wait just about the 2 weeks before I list and then do not go above 1 items at a time until the first several sales. then qty of 2. until i get up to just under the velocity. It 30 days from the date of the amount you sold. If you sold $250 in the second weeks of the acct being open then 30 days from then you will be able to sell $250 more. You cannot go over the $750 in any given rolling 30 days
