Default Help me get organized.

I consider myself an extremely neat guy with good organizational skills, but I know it can be done easier and better.

I currently use MS excel with fields like costs/sale/profit/shipping/ect....

In 2011 I am going completely legit, I want everything to be accurate and will report Amazon income (something I have neglected ). I want to be more professional.

Does anyone use any 3rd part software that is good for internet sales? Something to help me keep track of inventory/sales/taxes?

Any ideas?

As long as the records are accurate and the income is reported properly, I don't think the IRS will ever care HOW the records are kept. Many people use spreadsheets for this.

But I do agree with the others, Quickbooks can be a good option.

i would go directly with amazon as well.
but i remember around the holidays last year, amazon put a note on a particular item they were selling stating something to the effect of due to many buyers complaint about authenticity of this product, we have temporarily stopped offering these for sale until further notice....there were still 3rd party vendors that sold that product, but amazon voluntarily took theirs off the market......never seen anything like that from them before.

I actually saw the same thing three days ago, but they let me list & sell the very same product.

yeah, i think it means amazon is questioning THEIR own product, thus other sellers are still able to list

I think someone should come out and review amazon.com, restrict their access to their money for 90 days and ask for invoices.

The e-mail massage to amazon should include "You may no longer sell on your own website, because it has been brought to our attention that the items you have sold are counterfeit/recopied media. We understand this may be frustrating for you, however we need to provide a safe buying environment to our buyers. You may appeal this decision, but it won't do jack".

Back to topic. Sage is the professional standard software for accounting if you want to be "professional" about it. Excel is fine, but you could also use Access or Microsoft Money. Other than that Quickbooks is your best option.
