Default How I increased feedback by 15%

Just wanted to share....

I have always sent a follow up email requesting feedback, thanking them for purchase ect..... With very few responses.

When my account went under review a couple months back, I came up with a more desperate to the heart approach. I only planned on using it until I got my account in good standing but now I use it every time.

I would say I average 30-35% with this email.

Of course it can be tweaked, but what I have come to find is the "professional" emails get less attention then the "real".

Here it is , short and sweet.......

I understand this is unprofessional but desperate times call for desperate measures. My Amazon seller account is under a 30 day review because my feedback is far below my sales volume.

Being able to sell on Amazon is my livelihood right now and your help in this matter will truly make my day.

Every positive feedback left will help my review process so if you have not left positive feedback already, please take a second to do so,

www.amazon.com/feedback

If you are not happy with your purchase in any way, just contact me and I will fix whatever you need.

I appreciate your help and understanding.

True story...I'll take anything people give me. And with Amazon, we sellers are desperate for feedback sometimes.

We need to probably invent a better solution to this whole feedback problem. I mean eBay pushes it enough that it's not the problem of the day for 99% of sellers. But Amazon is a whole different beast!

I disagree - to me, the problem with the Amazon system is that the way it's weighted you have to get 100 positive feedbacks to balance one negative one. And there are actually really only two ratings when they figure out your percentage - 4s and 5s count as positives, everything else as negative (even a 3, which is supposed to be "neutral")

Include a printout with every order, asking for positive feedback. I think I got my percentages to about 30% of buyers leaving feedback.

Yeah I always include my feedback cards in my orders, with a quick thank you note and directions on how to leave feedback.

I don't think "if everything is fine" is good enough. You need to make it sound like you're really obsessed with ensuring their order is satisfactory, and you are willing to address any concerns. Of course, selling in a different category may affect the feedback rate. My next step would be to buy or print some cheap, but tasteful greeting-card like messages including a request for feedback. I've received them from sellers on both eBay and Amazon. Makes the whole thing more personable for the buyer.

This is definatly feedback begging. Keep in mind, at the time I drafted it, it looked like my account was about to go down so I was begging.

Then I went back to my more professional written email and received so few that I just said f it.

I am a little worried at how "unprofessional" this is because I like to look professional. But I figure, this account is not likely to last forever anyway so who cares.

Until I get bestbuy status and my accounts are invincible, I am going to stick with it

You should add that you have 4 hungry children to feed, and a dog that hasn't seen a bone in 2 years. And also write down your bank account information. Who knows, maybe Bill Gates bought your item :D

It does'nt matter what is sounds like, as long as you get what you need. Amazon feedback can be hard to get so i can understand.

Saying it sounds desperate as if some are better then that i find offensive.

the goal is to get where you need to go, not prove who is better then others though a show of your personality. Thanx cherrqell for your letter.

I tried bribing people by putting a slip in the package saying i would give $8 back for $100+ purchases and the lower purchases got $5
and ppl still did not leave feedback. so whatever you gotta do.

Thanks newtools for a Great reply to some of the comments on this Thread.

The OP has shared something that has been proven to work by them and another member which can benefit some new Amazon sellers here.

If all it takes is a quick email to get some much needed feedback, who really cares what it says?

Honestly I have considered a monetary bribe before also. Never made it that far. For me hand written thank you notes have been doing great.

It's funny companies can do surveys all the time and it's not considered desperate. Feedback is just another survey.

dude that was just too funny... :D

I used to deliver newspapers to the owner of Boston Bruins, and every morning I used to dream about him giving me a couple of millions. :D never happened, cuz the guy never stepped out of his house when I got there. :(
