What world are you in?

Paypal has been asking for SSN for years.
.................................................. .................................................. ..
BUT since you've posted this in AMAZON I'm guessing that you are referring to a certain amount of financial transactions etc etc?

If so wtfudge did you not say that? Question should have a touch of sense to it for suitable replies, no?

LOL Maybe the OP had a couple things going through his mind at one time? The title clearly states "Amazon" but the post says "PayPal". No more Ganja for you! :-D

But since I do believe you meant to ask if Amazon has started asking for SSN? The answer is: No. Doesn't mean that they wont start it in the future. So just expect the worst, but hope for the best. But I would say in this situation, to really expect the worst.

as far as i am aware amazon does not report you for taxes unless you attempt a dispersal of $10,000 or more in one transaction

that may require an ssn

the biggest single disperse i've done so far is $6,000 and have never been asked for an ssn so far

also, i believe in a worst case scenario you would be able to get around the need for your own personal ssn by using a company tax id number or something like that

if you were doing enough business that a tax id was required, you'd be able to afford a new tax id for every amazon account as a new business. there is no law against owning many businesses and amazon will treat each of them separate without you giving them personal info, only give them company info
