Amazon hasn't forgotten about tax ID's
This is what I got today: Greetings from Amazon!
Beginning with the 2011 tax year, new IRS regulations require Amazon to file a Form 1099-K for sellers who exceed $20,000 in unadjusted gross sales and 200 transactions in a calendar year. To assist in complying with these regulations, Amazon set a policy requiring sellers who exceed 50 transactions in a calendar year, regardless of monetary threshold, to provide their tax identity information. We have temporarily extended the deadline for sellers to comply. Sellers have been contacted multiple times regarding this policy. According to our records, the e-mail address receiving this survey did not provide their tax identity.
Please take this brief survey to tell us what would better assist you in complying with Amazon's policy of providing your tax identity. The survey should take about 3 minutes.

My guess is that the 50 transactions is the limit, and whoever hits that will be suspended until they provide a tax ID (I'm thinking this since they didn't provide a specific deadline). I have NOT yet checked out the survey, btw.
