Default What I am doing wrong? Trying to open up a new account, accounts failing immediately

Is Amazon going through a period right now where they are just simply not accepting any new seller accounts?

I ask because all the stealth accounts I have opened this week have ALL FAILED the intital review ... in fact Amazon doesnt even bother to make that $1 test charge that they do for all new accounts - it's as if they are saying right away - nope we are not going to even bother to test the card for $1, you go straight to fail-review land.

I've never expeirced this before.

Here's the deal, a little over week ago I lost my account after 2 months and figured ok I'll open another one (i've done this many times so I know the formula and it's always worked)

1) So I got a gift card and a Google Voice number on Monday
... and the account failed (amazon never bothered to make the $1 charge)

2) So I went and bought a different card and got a new Google Voice number on Tuesday and then I tried it again ... and it failed again

Ok, so i fugured, it MUST be Google Voice and/OR the Gift Card ... so get this, I borrow my friends phone and his credit card to open up an account in his name (I know at least THIS ONE will go through ok ... right?)

Nope!

His account failed the initial review and the account was deleted within 2 hours

I desperately need to know why I am failing my intital review and/or an Amazon account, ANY amazon account ...

You need to review everything. You'll see time and time again on this forum that Amazon is a different beast to eBay.

Get the ghost ebook if you haven't already got it, and if you have got it, read it again. 3 times.

Good luck.

... but I have read Ghost from someone else (borrowed it from a friend) and I still don't get what I'm doing wrong

if anyone can, any informed guess at where I am going wrong would help ...

You are getting linked. My recent account is fine. Must be your computer or router, that is my guess.

must be ... but what gets me is that Amazon is not even bothering to make that $1 test charge on the card

it's really errie to me

pass or fail, they ALWAYS used do that ... but as of recently they are not doing that

I create the account and then I check the credit card and I DON'T SEE that $1 test charge so I already know the account is destined to FAIL

it's like "they know" right away

has anyone else ever experienced this before ever?
& is there any solution?

Before I start the account opening process I get a new tracphone and new gift card from Ralphs ...

Step 1: I open up an account at Yahoo Mail and use that to open up an account on Amazon.com ... ok now I have an user account with Amazon via Yahoo Mail

Step 2: Now I register the prepaid Visa or Mastercard Gift Card I got @ mygiftcardsite.com with a new name and new address of an apartment that I know I've never used on any other account before

Step 3: I use my, now, registered card and my new prepaid phone number to enter the credit card information and confirmation PIN during Amazon setup

Step 4: I create a seller name and agree to the terms of the Amazon and click on create account ... and that green bar comes up and completes

Step 5: the screen comes up that tells me what I will make if I sell my book and I click ok and it says that "congratualtions, your item has been listed"

... but Amazon doesn't bother to make that $1 charge my card during setup (I don't know if it's deliberate or not) and within 2 hours I ALWAYS end up failing the review

this has never happened before EVER, pass or fail, Amazon always used to charge the $1 and my accounts would ALWAYS go through just fine ... as of this week ... all failed

When I emailed them about why I can't log into my seller account anymore (I knew I had been deleted) I got this response ...

Quote:
Hello from Amazon.com.

Thank you for your email regarding your selling account.

Jeff Bezos received your correspondence and asked that I respond on his behalf.

We removed your selling privileges because your account failed our review process. Due to the proprietary nature of our business, we do not provide detailed information about this process.

After a review of your account by an account specialist, we have decided not to reinstate your selling privileges.

We regret we are unable to provide further information on this situation. Further correspondence regarding the closure of your selling account may not be answered.

The closure of this account is a permanent action. Any subsequent accounts that are opened will be closed as well.
Regards,

Seller Performance Team

ok I get that ... but why won't they even bother to make that $1 test charge?

they always used to do that ...

I've never had that happen before

Is it because "they know" right away that I'm trying to create a stealth account?

Because the new account automatic LINK with the way you do. I think they don't need to go that far.

and you can be linked if you listed the same products. A lot of factors to consider.

^^ Frankly lately Amazon is been flagging prepaid cards for AVS use, but not all of them. Amazon sellercentral puts so many codes into your computer and some of those can tell whether your on a new computer, by logging your wifi's MAC's number and flagging it. This webkit strings (not cookies) are to determined the devices that logon sellercentral.

Technitium MAC Address Changer v6 (FREEWARE)

Just revise your game a bit and where you are going wrong, make list of ip's being used and avoid using the same one.

What's wrong with that? I run all my accounts from the same computer. I've also had accounts suspended throughout the years form it also.

bboard, how are you setting your accounts? Through spoofing? Dial-up? Dial-up is the easiest route to go. Account get suspended? Just use another dial-up #. There are almost limitless ip addresses to use along with using new gift card, address, etc.
