Seller review

Do Amazon automatically carry out seller reviews anyway, or do they only do that if they have a specific reason?

I created a Ghost account 7 days ago, sold nothing for the first couple of days, and now sold 4 items altogether. Today I've got an email saying I'm under seller review and my funds will be held on a 7 day rolling reserve.

I used a computer that has never been used for amazon before, new address, VCC and was using the 'personal hotspot' option on my iPhone as opposed to my broadband, so it was a new IP and MAC address.

My other account is active and so I've not actually been banned from Amazon anyway, just wanted a second one to be on the safe side.

Should I be worried or is this just standard practice?

Seller reviews seem to be based on velocity of sales and WHAT you are selling. That being said, what is your category of sales?

Always good to have back ups

I sell in home & kitchen, nothing high value or high risk. Think more home decorations, average item price about £30.

From my experience, in the beginning of November Amazon starts a huge cleanup, reviewing, suspending and deleting accounts, all this to make sure that the shoppers' Holiday buying experience will be flawless.

You seem like a legit seller, so just keep doing what you're doing and most importantly, ship fast and get some positive feedbacks.
There is a very good example here about how you can do this professionally, without getting on the nerves of your customers.

Good luck!

-Sigh- I was a "victim" of one of those clean-ups today. Rolling up my sleeves and starting all over again.
