While getting a free EIN on IRS website I noticed that they specifically said that you do not have to form your business first before getting an EIN. so before spending money on an LLC etc. you should give the EIN info first to see if the account will pass review. When your account is suspended for not giving tax info they will automatically activate it once you finish the tax interview. However, when Amazon sends the request for matching tax info, there will not be enough time elapses for it to be in the IRS system (IRS website says it takes two weeks). Amazon will then give you 30 days to enter correct information. Just wait about three weeks and re enter the same tax info and the account will be fine.

When you went through the interview process did you do the sole proprietor with the ein and use you real name or did you do the llc corp one and put the ein in... I am still trying to figure this out.. I have an ein i dont want to get linked with it

You only need to give the LLC name, EIN and a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address

Using the sole proprietor option requires that your real name is given to Amazon for verification, so it somewhat defeats the purpose of stealth. Of course, if you name is very common and you live in a major city, that might work.

With an LLC or a corporation, the name of the business is verified. Using the sole proprietor option means your real name will be verified. Giving any false names to the IRS is NOT AN OPTION.

Personally, I use LLC's mostly. I have also used corporations, but there is more paperwork with them.

Thanks for the info... I have not done the LLC yet, i just have the ein right now.. I want to make sure amazon was not going to ask me for anything else or it would screw up my taxes at the end of the year
