Activity: 0% Longevity: 62% | | Opening an amazon account
Hi everyone,
Just was wondering since I am about to venture into the land of selling on amaz.
Is EEbay the same as Amazn?
I mean if I have a suspended eebay acct, would it remotely effect my amzn. selling account?
I am going to open up a amzn acct in my real name, real info, and use my same computer IP and user account from my computer that has my suspended eebay account.
Is that ok?
Sorry for the stupid question.
But I was never suspended on amaz before, never even opened amaz account yet.
Thanks a ton guys and girls.

eB and Amazon are VERY different platforms and do not share info.
Why waste your real info on Amazon? If your account goes down, then what? Best to keep it stealth info.
Amazon has some different ways that the user is tracked - you need to learn more about it before going on.

Thanks a ton guys and girls. | Nothing alike at all.
amazon is harder, meaner and crueller than ebay.
Plan carefully for what you want to do. |

Open a ghost account and play with it, learn the system first do you don't burn your own real info. Once you know the system and can stay on top of it then you are welcome to use your real info. But if you can stay ghost, just do it |

There are a couple of things you should know about Amazon before setting up ANY account there.
First, they are more technologically advanced than eBay. Extra steps must be taken to be successful with stealth. Of course, if you are setting up a non-stealth account, then it does not matter. However, I urge you to heed the advice of other members and try a stealth account. Better to save your once shot at a real account for the future. You just never know what will come up.
Second, Amazon does NOT tolerate any bad seller behavior. On eBay you can specify "no refunds". On Amazon, that won't work. All customer inquiries MUST be answered within 24 hours. All communications MUST be professional.
Third, eBay gives warnings, Amazon will just suspend you. There are a couple of different types of suspensions with Amazon. The first is a regular suspension. You lose the ability to sell, but you can appeal their decision by writing a plan of action telling Amazon what you will do to make sure that whatever the problem is won't keep happening. Appeals CAN be won, but if your offense was bad enough, like losing it with a customer and telling them to go "f" themselves, the appeal will most definitely be denied.
The other type of suspension is referred to here as an account "deletion". One day, without warning, you simply cannot log into your account. You try resetting the password and it won't work. You can call Amazon and they will tell you that someone from Seller Performance will have to call you back. But they won't. In fact, they will not respond to you via any means. Any money in your seller account is GONE! They will NOT release the funds. This usually happens if they feel you were doing something illegal, such as selling counterfeits - in THEIR sole judgment. Even if your items are totally authentic, if Amazon BELIEVES otherwise, you are screwed. But this CAN also happen under other circumstances. Read the Amazon Seller Agreement carefully, and NEVER have more money in your seller account than you can afford to lose.
eBay is the kiddie pool. Amazon is the shark tank!

Whoa...
Amazon seems like it is not messing around.
Thanks for the info so far everyone.
I live next to an outlet store, and sometimes they have products very cheap.
I use amazons scan and price check app on my phone.
If it is cheaper and I can make a profit, I usually pick it up.
I have a little inventory (not much at all) that I want to experiment with.

What I am selling would be items between $10 and $50 dollars.
And I have just a handful to test the market with.
But my main question was, if Amazn and Eebay are the same entity.
Like if my eebay account was indef susp. Then would that in any way shape or form effect me from opening an aAmazon selling account?

And why do you write "eebay" and "aAmazon"?

How bout that...
EBay has me on the ropes.
My story is really no different than any other person who got knocked out of eBay.
My father got sick, last year. Was late on some shipments.
EBay customers didn't care.
A few got mad, gave me not only low DSR ratings on shipping but on everything else.
My DSR ratting was below standard.
Poof, all my listings went gone!
I am not a scammer. I have college education.
I believe in good ethics.
I'm not looking to screw anybody.
But when life throws a curve ball at you, its tough.
I have been basically out of work, stuck with my hard earned inventory, and have no income.
I found aspkins forum a few months ago and thought wow.
So I have been trying my hardest to try to make an account of some type.

PS. I was a powerseller, with 3200+ fb, above 98% positive fb, a member for almost 10 yrs., and had a store selling things for 7 yrs.
I am just trying to pick up the pieces...
Not looking for sympathy, just need to get back in the saddle.
I purchased a selling account from the sellers here on the forum, but didn't even attempt to use it yet.
I don't want to mess it up.
I am still learning the procedures on stealth.

you really need to read the guide there is an awful LOT of extremely VALUABLE information all TOGETHER in there that you could NEVER find in all of the different threads scattered about the forum, or by asking questions
