Basically, whatever you input as the "legal name" must exactly match what the IRS has on file. Usually, for an SSN this would be the name as it shows on your social security card. For an EIN, it would be the name of the business that you gave to the IRS when you applied for the EIN. The IRS should have given you a PDF (or sent a notice via snail mail) confirming your EIN. The name will be on that notice.
Keep in mind that Bob J Smith is NOT the same as Robert James Smith,
Also, IBM, INC. is NOT the same as International Business Machines, INC.
If the names do not match EXACTLY, Amazon will simply receive a "no match" response from the IRS and will NOT have any other information. The IRS will not give them anything other than a match, or a no match.
