I created a new account on amazon uk. it required me to input passport details which i added.

added the bank to receive micro deposit.

just wondering at what point they ask for a copy of passport? or utility bill?

after you do micro depoist your last steps are to add passport.....

They will not ask for a copy of the passport unless the details you have given them don't match the passport bio-data. The passport number is checked via a central database which amazon now have access to.

I used real passport details, now they are asking for copy of passport. How are you sure they have access to these database? even banks dont have access to these database...

Verification of ID...wow...those are details I would not like any net service to have
