That part about MAC address is mentioned in the book as well. It might be true only to some websites as I can see you and the other person are from UK but in US that's not the case, and same is for Amazon Canada.

Amazon Stealth doesnt cover some steps and one of them is similar listings, even partly sometimes. So, if you listed identical items or at least part of those then that's how you got linked. Also Amazon links by MAC address of your computer, so if you have had your account banned from one of the computers and you never spoofed your MAC address when you logged in with your fresh account then that's how you could have gotten linked, regardless of the fresh browser, IP etc. If you use VM ware and install fresh Windows the MAC address will change but if you install Windows on a partition then it wont be changed. There is actually this step covered in Amazon Stealth Guide; there is also a software SMAC 2.0 for that.
