A PO Box/Street Address (Box) will fail verification at many banks. (I have first hand experience with that.) That may lead to problems opening an account if you start off with that address or problems changing an account's address to that later on down the line if you do things that way.

You implied this would be a major obstacle, which it isn't.

Just as "many" banks do not like mis-matched names. Should we all use our real names on our stealth accounts, since "many" banks won't allow deposits with mis-matched names?

Thats true, some companies collect this info from various sources. Many companies give this info away. And then you just login to a certain website..enter your ssn... and read tons of interesting material about yourself.. I'm not sure if this info will be used on your credit report. But for some people who will be researching your identity these changes could be very informative.

So, ahem, just to be clear... one is able to change address (to some unlinkable address) for their legit card online and then use that card with some bogus name for their Amazon? Sounds like the way to go, instead of bothering with VCC's and whatnot.
