Re: Amazon tax verification process

In tax interview they ask this

Please enter your Employer Identification Number (EIN). The EIN that you provide must match the "Name" line in the taxpayer information section. Do not enter the EIN that matches the name you entered on the "Business or trade name" line, if applicable.

So they ckeck the personal name not the business name.

that a problem . So amazon is checking your personal name matching with irs and the irs is checking the business name??
Im confused

No they dont check the personal name. Fact of the matter is if you enter a personal name and the EIN it will not match.

Dont make this complicated. There is thousands of us on this forum who have accounts right? I guess we all got lucky...
Name: Marc Smith

Company name: The name of your company.
Company EIN: The company EIN.

It is that simple. Nothing more to it.

Ok i did like you suggest but know in legal entity its showing the personal name instead the company name .

they will not check my name and ban me after they see it ?

Im confused altogether.

Make up a name for the contact name
and the company name, use your company name.

If it is wrong, edit it.

I use another name and wasnt working
ALso adding the company name in the name field wasnt working either
i had to put my name in order to pass the tax verification.
Legal Entity cannot be changed.

So how we can make sure after the tax interview that our personal name are not showing in legal entity ??

Re: Amazon tax verification process

So where it says: Federal Tax Classification: Choose your entity.
Name: YOUR COMPANY NAME
Business name or trade name optional: Nothing
Address: Stealth address if your company address is on a banned account.

etc...

yankee 08-18-2015 02:46 PM

Re: Amazon tax verification process

If it does not match the IRS then in a few weeks or months amazon will make you correct it.

I never use my real name. Nobody ever said to use your real name.

When you sign up use a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name. Any name. Ronald McDonald, Joe Smith, Octavian Zillafrasher, etc... Any ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name that you like.

Then BUSINESS NAME for tax interview. YOU are not the business.
You can not use anything other than your matching business name for your EIN.

Best Buy does not use a personal name right? Walmart would not use a personal name? Burger King? Mid Atlantic Archery Supplies? Ford Motor Group? Lowes? Home Depot?
Of course not because it is not a person. It is a legal business entity.

You have to use THE BUSINESS NAME for the EIN if not it wont pass the IRS. It is impossible to pass. That EIN goes to that business NOT to your name. You are nothing more than a share holder or member. Just like Home Depot is owned by shareholders.

Your name has nothing to do with any is of this. It is the business, not you.

Not sure how else to explain this.

my personal name is not found or ever typed in anywhere on Amazon. Never. Forget you even have a name when it comes to amazon, ebay. paypal or any other selling platform you are going to use your EIN on.

If you have to have a contact name, make one up. Think of it as a user name.

One question though, you guys sign up for personal accounts and then upgrade to business once amazon asks for EIN or you start with business accounts?

That is how I handle it. Amazon will require tax info at exactly 50 transactions. You can then choose to create more accounts or add tax info based on the account, items sold etc..

Also personal accounts get paid every seven days with a 14 day average reserve. It may or may not be better for cashflow depending on how you sell and what you sell.

I am finding that I need to enter in a new vcc EVERY amazon disbursement. I have 3 stealth account and with all of them, at disbursement time, they check the credit card and then temporarily limit my account until I enter in new credit card info...it is getting very expensive as I am needing 6 VCC's monthly.

Anyone else have this issue and how i can fix it ?

Quite easily fixable. LEAVE funds on the account. It will be tested EVERY distribution.

leave money on the account its the the solution
makes no sense to me

this is what amazon said:

Your funds transfer in the amount of xxx USD has been delayed because the credit or debit card information registered to your Amazon.com seller account is invalid. This information may be invalid because the card has expired or the billing address may have changed.

So if i dont add the new credit card they will never disburse the money.

Its there a credit that last of like mont at least?

What is it that you dont understand? AMAZON will test charge EVERY distribution. YOU MUST LEAVE AVAILABLE FUNDS ON THE VCC if not it will fail every single distribution and you will have to add a new one.

What is confusing? What is not making sense?

What are you using for VCC and how much funds are you leaving on it?

Re: Amazon tax verification process

I have 7-8 Amazon accounts with single member LLCs.

Up until recently , I never had any problems.

All my LLCs are filed under my real address but when I go to Amazon, I used to give them a different address that had no link or previous amazon accounts.

Last week, while I was helping a friend to set up a new Amazon account through his new LLC, the tax interview failed and said " there is something wrong with the highlighted info" highlighting the street address and zip code.

Fortunately, my friend had no previous Amazon accounts at the Registered address of LLC and once we put the correct address it worked.

I hope this was a glitch or something because it will be hard for me to file LLCs on different addresses.
