| KenjiMishima | 09-08-2015 03:21 PM | Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? So thus far I have a decent plan of action so far.
First I am going to buy a mailbox for business at the UPS store, so that is gonna be 300$ for 6 months.
Then I will be forming an LLC, maybe an SP through legalzoom, I am figuring that I will use the location that is on the mailbox for where legalzoom will send the info to. Please advise if that is wrong.
As for the IP issues, I have a couple of ideas when it comes to this, first of all I will be buying a new computer possibly, and buy a router that I can install dd-wrt on, and then probably pay for a proxy that I will input on the router opposed to running it on the computer. I had my router that I currently have off for a bit so I could get a new IP, and only signed in with my buyer account.
The other option would be to to just buy a vps, through I am not sure how well that will work out.
How does my plan of action look to you guys so far?
In the event that I get linked for any reason what would I do? Form an entirely new business? What would I do with the other one? Can you have multiple EINs? |
| TonyAlmeida | 09-08-2015 03:51 PM | Re: Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? Wow, 6 months mailbox for $300??????
I got my for $36 for a whole year at the post office |
| thready | 09-08-2015 03:54 PM | Re: Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? Mines at the ups store doesnt cost that much. |
| cast76 | 09-08-2015 04:32 PM | Re: Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? As it was suggested to me by experienced forum members, I wouldn't open the LLC just yet. Just open the account and then add the EIN # after it is required which is 50 sales, I think. This way you can have the account open today. Also, you can get the EIN # from IRS for Free without having the LLC opened. But, you would eventually need to open the LLC afterwards but this buys you time. As far as multiple EIN's yes it is possible but you'll need a new LLC for each. Good luck |
| cast76 | 09-08-2015 04:34 PM | Re: Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? Oh also, I just opened my amazon account and used a stealth address and name. I just made up a name and chose a hotel address that is a few blocks from my house. Since I'm planning on doing FBA with Amazon anyways, I thought I wouldn't need an actual return address. |
Re: Trying to make sure I do everything correct. Advice? Also you should never use a proxy, get a VPN or VPS from a reliable company
and you dont need a new computer can just make a new user account or use vmware |

I may consider a vm but in the same token a vm with a vpn sounds like it would be slow as all hell, do many people do that and it works out? |

I dont notice any deterioration in speed while using VM with VPN |

| First, you don't spend a bunch of cash on a brand new account. Only invest in an LLC etc once you start coming close to your tax threshold (20,000 and 200 sales in one calendar year). Until that time, you're just spinning your tires.
Yes, you can create one new EIN per day online via irs.gov |

The 300 was for the fact that in the guide it says to NOT use a mailbox that has a P.O box number, the 300 is for a business private mailbox, so are you meaning to tell me that you are just using regular old p.o boxes that aren't for business?
Its not about "wasting money" its just about me trying to get this **** done right. Not wasting time figuring things out, having linked accounts and such, I am just trying to build a stable account where things wont get screwed up. I am not interested in making a bunch of throw away accounts.
As for the new IP ive decided to go with a dedicated vpn with a new user account, as people have said that works.
I dont know how it would work buying an account from the forum for a mailbox, I do not know what that person may have done with it and such. Not to mention if I actually received mail, it kinda defeats the purpose if the place isnt really close to me.
The forming of the business is more or less for the resale certificate, cant really buy from the places I want to buy from if I do not have one.
If you have an idea of how to do this without screwing it up my ears are open. I hope I didnt sound to aggressive in my reply. I am just taking getting this started very seriously. |

| Was not referring to purchasing a mailbox, my suggestion was simply to avoid throwing money out the window, you'd be better of buying a pre-made account.

I gave you quite a bit of advice. If you have any specific question, I'm here. :thumb: | Ahh see I was under the impression that all p.o boxes included that in their address. So then you just have the account under the address of the p.o box. So then I am assuming you have the business registered at your home address somewhere else. But then that begs the question of what name you have under the account.
With the info from what we talked about, The plan is looking like new user account, dedicated vpn on user account, would probably use first and last name of business, and use the address of the p.o box, then probably just have the location of the business with legalzoom to be your home address? Or do you just file it wherever, going that route sounds somewhat shady, and sounds like it could cause problems during tax season lol
And my apologies I didnt know you where talking about buying an amazon seller account. I suppose I may consider that in the worst case scenarios. But for me that raises more questions that what it answers.
Once again I am sorry, I probably sound incredibly ignorant and stupid. |

Once again I am sorry, I probably sound incredibly ignorant and stupid. | You can register your account under Mary Jane or Santa Claus....in the USA, Amazon doesn't verify any of this info. (Note: I don't recommend testing this regardless, just in case...)
Address is the same...the only way it matters is for returns. If you use a shipping manager application (I like Teaplixx) you can use whatever address you want, and your real address will be on the return section of the label, and only you and the buyer will know. |

I guess in this case it would just be looking at the EIN number and not see a reason to do anything further.
So, and feel free to criticize this the newer plan looks like
>New user
>24c dedicated IP
>P.O box, hopefully with address
>Use p.o box address with amazon
>Create EIN for use with amazon
>Legal Zoom for the business(for mostly the resale license figure since I am using the p.o box with amazon then I can use my real adress with legal zoom)
>Username as business name with amazon
>Create small business bank account for use for payment/ debit card to attach to account
Am I forgetting anything? Anything else you would add? I also believe I should wait 30 days before I start going hard so my account can pass verification. Additionally I am wondering what I should put for my bank info, would it create problems if the billing location and such didnt match the general info on my account? |

I have a means to cut out the p.o box and use a legit address, So I could register the business with legal zoom under that, then register the bank under that address too, in that case I can go as far as to say the mismatched names part wouldnt even matter, then I have the debit card from the bank account and that all works itself out. Then making a different user account along with a dedicated IP, and everything is pretty much taken care of.
Edit: Though if I wasnt going to do that, could I use a p.o box with legal zoom and with the bank? |

I'd say 90% of banks would never know the difference, especially if done online. |

>24c dedicated IP
>Home address that I didnt use on amazon
>Create EIN for use with amazon
>Legal Zoom for the business, use other home address
(The way I figure it when I make the bank account they will ask for documents showing the business and its location, so I can use my other home address)
>Username as business name with amazon or I can use a DBA name as the first and last name, and then put the business name in the field for amazon
>Create small business bank account for use for payment/ debit card to attach to account
(Since I can open a bank account with my DBA name on the account, it wont matter what bank I go to, since the deposit will come in the name of my DBA name)
What do you think? And you private message me your paypal email? Id like to give you a little something for your knowledge and patience with me. |

What do you think? And you private message me your paypal email? Id like to give you a little something for your knowledge and patience with me. | Nothing wrong with 24VC, and from what I heard, the service is FANTASTIC. But you can change your IP with a MAC Address changer which will automatically change your IP address. You only need to change your IP ONCE, unless you're running multiple accounts. I'm not saying don't use a VPN, but I'm pointing out for those on a budget, you can change IPs for free with very little technical know-how.
You can also simply use your own personal credit/debit card. Amazon does NOT verify the name. Your name might be Joe Smith, but you can put Marty Anderson for the name, and the charge(s) will still go through. Only the zip code and house numbers need to match. As long as the card hasn't been used before, it will work perfectly.
As for address, using an alternate address is fine, just be sure that no one else living there is using that address for their own Amazon accounts, or else it could cause problems for one or both of you.
As for payment, only authorized sellers are allowed to accept payments for services provided, and I am not one. Furthermore, I'm simply giving back what I was given when I started here. I didn't know all of this info when I first joined, I learned from others, who learned from others themselves. Even Aspkin has learned from members of this forum, it's sort our our own eBay and Amazon Mastermind group. If you want to pay it back, just pay it forward. Give advice and help to others who need it. We're all in this together. |

House numbers as in "xxx something something street" right? My thought of having payments come through in a bank made with my dba name is just so that in case I want to, I can use ANY bank and not just bank of america since the payments would be coming through in the name of my dba.
On a separate note, in theory any time someone needed to make a new account I suppose they could ask their bank or cc company for a new card any time they needed to make a new account.
Now for their own amazon accounts, of course my family lives there. Some of them have amazon accounts, but only as buyers. As far as I know no one has an account set up as a seller. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:45 PM. | |
