Activity: 0% Longevity: 52% | | What to sell on new Amazon Ghost Account
Alright, I am about to create my first Amazon Ghost account (because I can't buy one here!)
I would like to sell some items to build up the account and to dilute it with the actual items I want to sell and have sold in the past.
To build up the account I am planning to sell items at USD5 or below with free shipping. I don't want to be the cheapest seller but within the 3 cheapest and I don't mind if I make a small loss on the item itself.
The problem is that I am based in Thailand, shipping alone cost me USD3-6 for the smallest item to US. Also there are import taxes and it takes ages to reach USA.
Therefore I can't just go to the 1 dollar store and buy junk to sell or import.
I am thinking of drop-shipping from eBay (or any other market place) to Amazon.
What would be a good item to sell on Amazon to build up the account (an item cheap enough that people do not want to return, an item that they can't complain about, and item that sells fast and preferably gives me some good feedback)?
Again this items are not to generate profit, but to build up the account.
Thanks for your advice

Go to your local thriftstore/yardsale/flea market and buy the .25 cent books.....all of them....and list them for a penny. You will break even every time, so you're working for free, BUT, it will get your metrics up and hopefully some feedback.

sell on top of other products. you might be lucky to get some sales. and you can just dropship from other sellers that are selling the same product.
good to dilute the products although you might be selling at some losses. but thats fine for short term i guess and your products should be much expensive but not so. hence your product wont be the buy box so you wont get that much losses.

Let me explain why:
First, you are a BRAND NEW user. Why would someone buy from you at a HIGHER PRICE over someone with a lower price and a proven track record? They wouldn't.
Secondly, "dropshipping" from other sellers can end VERY badly. You have NO control over there shipping, packaging, item condition, anything. You also could end up dropshipping from the buyer to the buyer. Here's an example:
Early 2009: I was selling copies of a rare collectible book. Value was approximately $55. There were 6 other sellers selling the book besides me. Then, a few new people listed lower than me, I bought those and added them to my inventory so that I could profit at the high price I sold them from. One of the people had listed a couple dollars above me, I bought his because the next lowest price was 70 something. What happened? I got a sale....and the buyers shipping address WAS MY HOME ADDRESS. This idiot had BOUGHT from the SAME SELLER who bought "his" copy. Long story short, since I never got my item (I shipped to myself, keeping my own copy...) I filed an A-to-Z and left negative feedback. Don't be a fool.

i just thought that its good to list few items which you wont even sell just to get your account off radar. not that you are selling it for profit.

Yes, if you're "padding" your account with products priced WAY to high to sell, yes, that IS a good practice.
I thought you were suggesting "drop-shipping" items from other Amazon sellers....which is a bad idea for the above mentioned reasons.
Now, drop-shipping stuff sold BY Amazon to eBay customers has been done reportedly with success....but I had a guy do that to me from Amazon (only it was from Walmart.com) I was PISSED. I demanded a refund/return and then I bought it from Walmart myself. It's one thing to do it, it's another to make it obvious.

(Plus I am located on a tropical island, with coconuts and not much more around me)
@MM78, my kids love those. Didn't know you have in the states.
@mhhbizz, I don't think it is smart to buy and resell items on the same platform, even if it executed on different stealth accounts.

You don't want to be shipping from Thailand to the US that's a bad call!
To be honest e joy the tropical island, cheap living and don't worry about Amazon. Lol
You would be surprised buying and selling from Amazon has been a model adopted from users for a long time, it can work with due diligence

I have already an account from Thailand. I want to sell the same items as on the Thai account. Therefore I don't want any links back to Thailand. Plus shipping from Thailand is a pain.
Not to worry about Amazon, are you crazy! - Missing out on all the lovely profit dollars
Buying and reselling on Amazon, well I leave this to the pro's. Just started to sell from Amazon to Ebay to get some transactions on my new eBay Stealth account.

The only problem is that they recently closed my Europe account but not because of issues with shipping. Verification has become such a big pain there now. The long shipping time from Thailand to the U.S. sure turns off many buyers but you still can sell if you offer something people want to buy and believe it or not my feedback has been better than what I was thinking it would be.
New Amazon seller account forum?? Care to share some more info please? |

If you sell in the stealth account the same products as in the account that was banned will it get automatically linked?
