Re: Just lost an amazon account today

Just wanted to share this with you guys and get your opinion on it.

One of my Amazon US accounts, running for 3 months, just got deleted without warning. Good feedback, no cases, no issues whatsoever. The UK counterpart is still fine, however; disproving my previous statement that US and UK accounts share info (not 100% sure yet anyway).

I'm trying to figure out what went wrong. This account had about $800 in it. Not too much, luckily.

How did I set up the account? I won't go into details but I will say that I followed the ghost protocol.

The last thing that happened on the account before deletion was that they charged the card before disbursement and "delayed" the transaction because the card was invalid. Anyway, I ignored it and thought that I could get back to it he next day (it happened yesterday). When I tried to log in, the account was deleted.

You think it had something to do with the card? I'm suspecting that the guy who sold me that card (not on this forum) gave the same card to others as well. Can't see anything else as a problem.

Just to clear any doubts, the previous account that I lost was made using real info and was a UK account. So that can't be linked to this US account. Different details etc., too.

Too many sales, you think? Was averaging $800 or more per month on that account...

I don't think it was the card./ Once a card is in Amazon's system, it will not let another person enter that same card number. So, selling one card to multiple people would not make sense.

Amazon recently stopped allowing most gift cards and VCC's. Your card probably being one of those banned brought scrutiny on the account and they decided to delete it.

I cannot say this is exactly what happened, but it is the most likely scenario, in my opinion.

There are SO many cards out there that others won't think to use that work for Amazon like a charm. Unfortunately there are still LOTS of sellers, who are selling cards, taking the money and they do not actually work or when they charge the card it errors and Amazon remove it or worse review the account / delete.

It won't have been the seller giving it to someone else as Jeff said as you can only enter it once BUT it could be a type of card they do not like.
