Issue with VCC

I opened a new ghost account on Amazon yesterday using a VCC I bought from Bjammin. I got this message below today.....now what? Since a VCC he sells can't be reloaded, do I buy a prepaid mastercard/visa now? I assume they are trying to deduct the $39.99 seller fee. If that is the case, what is the point of a VCC with no or very small balance on it? Very disapointing since I also purchased Amazon Ghost and followed everything
as instructed...

Any advice on best prepaid mastercard/visa that will have a balance?

You have a balance due in your Amazon seller account. We attempted to charge your credit card for the balance, but your bank declined the charge. For billing and security purposes, all Amazon sellers must provide valid credit card information from a credit card acceptable by Amazon. Please verify that the credit card information you have on file is correct, and contact your bank for questions related to the accuracy of the information you provided.

It is possible that the charge was declined due to a credit limit imposed by your bank. If that is the case, we will attempt to charge a lesser amount to your card as often as every 24 hours until the remaining balance in your seller account is paid in full.

If the card was declined for any other reason, you will need to update the credit card information in your seller account. Payment will be suspended until your credit card information has been updated. Go to Seller Account information to update your credit card.

Once your credit card information has been updated and verified, payment will be initiated on your next settlement date. Additionally, any fees owed for this settlement period will be charged to the credit card on your next settlement date.

As a reminder, for amounts you owe us, Amazon may charge any payment instrument you provide to us.

looks like it is the seller fee, account is showing a negative balance of -39.99 which means they charge the seller fee right out of the chute....

Thinking I will post an item and have a friend purchase to cover the negative, is that a sound strategy? taking this very slow so not sure how long it would take for sales to cover this (my items are only $5-10 each) by actually waiting for someone to buy.

You can add your own card to cover the fees. It wouldn't be wise to have a friend purchase your product unless you know what you're doing.

won't they check the new card to verify my name and see it was a name on a banned account with a banned address?

Yes 90% of the time it will work.

Input the card # and expiration date

Keep name / address the details of the Amazon Stealth account.

Make sure the card # has never been used before and you're set

Address had to match the zip code. Be careful there.

You are disappointed because you had the wrong expectation at the time of purchase. Bjammin sells good card for verification and routine disbursement.

If you expect $40 charge to go through the card, and the card only costs half that, aren't you holding a perpetual-motion-machine towards infinite wealth?

actually, i didn't expect amazon to charge the $39.99 pro seller fee on day 1.
I figured they would wait a month and I would have sales to cover it. So I am posting this for other Amazon users: getting a VCC with a few dollars on it will get you no where on amazon if you want to be a pro seller.

You will need to find a credit card that can take the charge right away and you will have wasted the $35 I did on buying the VCC.

Seems like no else knew this either by comments I have gotten and have read including the seller of the VCC...of course, I am sure you knew all the time and just decided to share a smart ass comment after the fact.........

Not everyone opens a pro seller account from the start - I know about that 39.99 fee and yes, sadly, it is withdrawn quite quickly so there needs to be a quick sale done

i have encountered the same issue
usually the monthly seller fee would be deducted from the sales

but with all new accounts as soon as the account was made I recieved the message for balance due and even though sales were shortly made that covered the 39.99 amount .I have still received the same notification message about balance due ,even though the sales are sufficient to cover the seller fees

is this something new

Yes it seems like some new accounts are now being charged 39.99 from the start, but due by the 1st billing month

of the couple of accounts i recently made both had notifications for balance due.
its normally not an issue because at some point the sales can cover it
however in 1 of the accounts even though after 10 days there is a decent amount and easy coverage of the 39.99,yet it still sent me more notifications of balance due which is something ive not seen before
any clue

Is this still possible to opt out of pro-seller during registration? Or are you saying pro-seller is now mandatory?

An individual seller account does not have the $39.99 fees. These are fees for Amazon pro accounts
