Best selling listing removed over 'safety concerns'

So I have been selling a certain branded item that was moving huge volume on amazon. It would by no means have any 'safety concerns' about it but I was selling around 30 units a day.

It seems that Amazon caught wind of its huge selling potential so started selling direct and undercut me by around 75p.

Pretty annoying stuff but as I was well established and would still make a profit, I felt it would still be worth me going below them by another 10p after a couple of weeks.

Curiously, despite them only just listing stock themselves, a few days later, the listing was blocked and disappeared from amazon. I got a further email this morning stating it was blocked over 'safety concerns' which I find to be bull.

It seems just really strange that this turn of events happened, based upon product, the fact that it was so well selling and the fact that Amazon even JUST started selling it direct.

Anyone have any thoughts on this or know if I can get them to relist it again?

Its a pretty common tactic for Amazon to start selling products themselves that sell very well. It depends on how much you value the account as to if you relist the items.

the items are totally blocked so even when in my inventory it still wont sell.

Its so annoying, I know there is ZERO issue with the item.

Amazon has all the statistics, and it is actually only a matter of money, to keep you selling, and having bits of your profit, or just to kick you out and sell themselves to have the full money in the pocket.

Amazon pretends to be friendly with sellers/retailers just long enough to learn their business secrets, before taking over the market for themselves. It's just what Amazon does.

That pretty much sums it up perfectly

As I am a legitimate stockist of the said product I have today got in contact with the brand to ask them if they were aware Amazon had done this. They are going to look into it their end as I explained about how many sell via the platform so they would in turn be missing out.

I will keep you posted!

I had something similar happen to me with Amazon, it's no secret, when a product sells well they take it for themselves.

You'd think they'd be nice enough to share the selling space with you since you started selling it before them?, but no.

I think everyone would be doing the same thing if they could :pop2:
