Default Clicked on 3rd party link to forum post from email

Want to get opinions on this.

I subscribe to feedbackfive. I received an email from them with a link to a post on one of the amazon forum threads.

I thought the link would NOT go to Amazon, because when I hovered over it it didn't show the Amazon url, it showed another url. Because of this I clicked the link on my non-ghost computer. However, it was a redirect - and landed on Amazon.

Here is the url - I purposely changed the domain so it would not point to amz:

https://sellercentral.amzDOTCOM/foru...d02f3e455cc8e7

This was an email sent out to probably hundreds of customers. The url looks generic, except for the contact_key variable - I am hoping that does not embed anything specific to my account.

The contact key is: contact_key=96153d4c260f7cb739cad8091922b317907cce 3e5a1535f719d02f3e455cc8e7

Not that I think it matters, but it threw a 500 error instead of landing on the forum thread.

Do you think I'm in trouble?

It's a dead link..

I checked the cookies folder afterwards and nothing was added.

You can check yourself if your are using chrome..

chrome://settings/cookies (add that to your address bar and click enter)

Hi,

It's definitely a deadlink now, because I changed the domain to "amzdotcom" in the hyperlink I posted in my original post. I did this so noone would accidentally go to amz's website.

When I clicked on the original link it threw a "500 error" on Amazon's webpage.

Do you think I'm in the clear?

Its definitely possible you are now linked. You will know in the future once they do those automatic reviews that tend to happen when you make account changes or request disbursement.

Only time will tell, just hope for the best, learn from the mistakes etc.

Hi Elmo,

The link was generated by the company feedback five. It was a link to an Amazon forum thread. The link was sent out to all of feedbackfive's customers.

www.feedbackfive.com

My hope is that the url is the same url that was sent to all of feedbackfive's customers.

Amz would only know that I clicked on a link provided by feedbackfive to one of the amazon forum threads.

My concern is that the "contact_key" variable is the only thing that I'm unfamiliar with.

Let me be clear - I did not click on the link on my ghost computers, only on my non-ghost computer - I realize this was stupid and I will not screw up again.

Do you think feedbackfive is passing my ghost Amazon account information within the "contact_key" variable?

1. If your saying it threw the 500 error (i.e. it couldn't load page due to server error) then you haven't technically visited the site, for you to be linked in any way.

2. If TGMT2 is saying no cookies were added, then that goes hand in hand with my first point.

Conclusion - You should be fine.

Hi Play,

The 500 error was on an Amazon page, but they made the number 500 look like it was made out of small orange balls.

TGMT²

I'm going to attach the original link, but in six parts - because this forum sometimes truncates a long url.

Please piece together and let me know what you think.

I appreciate all input and advice - really.
