These "Account Specialists" work in offices that resemble those back in the 1950's, fax machines, no contact to the outside world... There is a good reason for that, if you do end up in a situation like the original posters its because you have ****ed up, it could be totally innocent but its 9/10 times related to fraud.
Its the EXACT same when PayPal gives you the finger and tells you to do one.
Lets get this straight, Amazon CS is absolute dog **** UNLESS the RETAIL AGENTS have authority to deal with your issue, as in.. Lets say a "parcel goes missing" or "shipping is late", etc etc.. Ill be honest if you are persistent enough and are genuinely innocent/have a solid excuse your question will reach a department which can take action HOWEVER it depends on so many factors whether to not they will go through and resolve the issue.
I have A LOT of experience with Amazon, mainly under very different circumstances so for me right now to give you an A-Z guide on how to resolve your issue is just not going to happen.
Your best cause of action is to send emails here;
NOT to the Jeff email. So you bought GC's online, I presume for a lower rate from a dodgy source, here is how your GC's were obtained;
- Carded (very unlikely IMO)
- Obtained via Fraud (very likely), here are some of the frauds that the GC could of been obtained from;
1. Transferred from a cracked account, person A obtains access to person B's account, person B had X amount of $ in their GC balance which was redeemed (but not spent) from a giftcard. Person A only has to phone up with the lamest excuse and they will transfer the giftcard to an account they state (yes I am well aware they state they cannot do this, but they can and if you want to disagree I will happily transfer some funds off your Amazon account onto my own). Amazon GC's obtained via a refund are NOT supposed to be transferred but sometimes are from a rep who is just IDK, useless? Doesnt care? Amazon are very inconsistent when it comes to following their own TOS, as stupid as it sounds its just true.
2. Transferred as part of a cashout from Social Engineering schemes. I wont get into the Social Engineering schemes but once a card has be "used" multiple times, it'll be sold for a lower rate, and the person who sold it will rebuy a fresh card. Eventually (if the card is passed around enough) it will become void, thus invalid. This is very unlikely but can still happen.
3. The person who sold you the card has claimed it as stolen, thus has been recovered and reissued directly to the account as discussed (over the phone) I presume.
There are a few more, I do not want to go into it. You got unlucky, I guarantee if you tell me the source of your cards ill be able to tell you which case applies to you.
Like I said, email "cis" if you are 100% innocent provide CIS with an attachment showing the receipt of your GC purchase, discuss how you had absolutely no idea the card was invalid, explain how you're a long standing customer with a *low* defect rating (returning items, complaints), explain how its almost Christmas and you was counting on your giftbalance to buy gifts for your family, offer your sincere apologise and after researching on the internet the giftcard I purchased may of been obtained illegally, explain how you will take greater care in the future and only purchase from well known sources, you get the point.
Good luck, and have fun battling with automated emails and the retards over at Amazon CS.

I also do not understand why we are talking about
Amazon Stealth accounts here, because this has nothing to do with Stealth accounts, it is to do with 'invalid' or 'revoked' giftcards you used to pay for an order.
