Can I sell on Amazon without a credit card?!!

Is having a normal credit card with a line of credit an absolute must for selling on Amazon?

Debit or Credit card is fine

You just need to pay the first month fees and then have enough balance to cover the $1-2 test charges every time there is a disbursement

I dont think these $1 test charges are ever submitted,they are merely authorising.
My gas station does that

I think Amazon changed, I can't bypass the registration process without adding a valid credit card and they are not accepting pre-paid ones either!!

So in short, no credit card --> no Amazon account :-/

Its been like this forever, you need a debit or credit card when registering

You could pick up a VCC from the service section on aspkin too

I think a prepaid credit card or a debit card will work for only sometime before they get busted and will eventually result in your account getting frozen.

I have read many many seller central forums discussions about this so far and I think a chargable credit card is definitely a must :-/


This is terribly frustrating, getting a credit card in Germany is not as easy as it is in the US. Secured credit cards don't even exist here!!

It will be like a gamble for me to be honest, if they end up freezing my account until I add a new credit card that will be a financial disaster for me.

I am now considering looking for banks outside Germany to get a credit card!!!

In order to sell on Amazon you do need to have a valid credit card or debit card registered to your seller account. Your debit card must be associated with one of these major credit card companies: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or Diner's Club

This is cheap talk on the part of Amazon, even if a debit card is initially accepted during registration, when that debit card expires --> Amazon won't accept debit cards ever again from you and if you can't add a valid credit card (with line of credit), you will be locked out of your account for good.

I think credit card companies have updated the software and it is now possible for Amazon to figure out which card is credit and which is debit. I have seen a lot of sellers talking about this on Amazon seller forums and stating debit cards won't work anymore on Amazon. I also contacted jeff@amazon.com and asked about this, they made it very clear that the card must be "Internationally chargable credit card".
