| agray34 | 12-17-2017 08:32 AM | Help, linked accounts detected I have been running two completely separate selling accounts on Amazon for probably over 3 years. One is the "main" account and the other is a secondary "backup" account. We do sell on the backup account just simply to have an extra account up and running.
Each account is associated with its own Tax ID, completely different computers, IPs and all that fun ghost stuff.
Our "backup" account received an email from Seller Performance yesterday that they believe this account is associated with our "Main Account" and that we are not allowed to do so. (They listed the "main" account name in the policy warning." They "suggested" that we close all of our listings since Amazon does not permit multiple seller accounts with our prior permission.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to response? My brother who is an attorney feels that we can make the approach that the secondary account is a completely different legal entity, different tax ID, different mailing address, etc...and is also an authorized distributor of the "main" accounts products....
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
TIA ! |

You would need to prove at law this is permissible. Sadly I do not think it is the case.
Now this is based on conversations I have had with another user here. They are no longer active or I would call on them to comment.
Be careful with what you do.

Re: Help, linked accounts detected Selling same items, or linked in another way (they have tons of linking metrics).
You're lucky that they are allowing you to keep your main one and stop using the other. They do this when both stores are in relatively good standing. I wouldn't push it to try to keep both open as that could backfire. Keep the main store, and do a bit more research on how to operate another stealth account and perhaps create a 3rd store in the near future :) |

| Canadianleaf | 12-17-2017 02:59 PM | Re: Help, linked accounts detected I have a similar set up with two accounts, one as the main and the other as a backup. Both are selling the same items in the book category. They have a 10:1 ratio of other random book asins. What you describe is my nightmare. I am very interested to see how this turns out. |

If you not reply to them they will close both accounts just do whatever they asking from you |

For example, the behavior you inhibit on both accounts are identical, ie: the pages you visit, the time you spend on them, the pages / reports you may request or download. Theres a slew of unique identifiers that could relate you to each account.
This thread made the hair on my neck stand up and I automatically assumed its from shared sales. Im wildly surprised this lasted 3 years and am curious as the cause. |
| ScottieBoi | 12-18-2017 11:49 AM | Re: Help, linked accounts detected Personally, I would be discontinuing the second account and let it go. The I would get started on opening a couple more accounts to replace it. Either way, open another account or 2 so that you aren't as worried about a single account going down. Hopefully, you can figure out why they were linked and avoid it in the future | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:55 PM. | |
