Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, Amazon introduces a new way to screw you, some bs called "charge when ship", coming soon. Can't wait!! (sarcasm)

I just got the 30 day review letter, however they are still allowing me to sell during the review.

My question is, it's been about a month, and I haven't added a bank account yet, should I add one now or wait for the review to be over?

Also, Amazon has started a new program, ship now, pay later, should I sign up to show good faith and please the bots or wait until they force us all to sign up?

Lastly, since I don't want to give them a link to my "real" company website for fear it will link me to a closed account, should I go ahead and send them tracking numbers or just wait it out?

Thanks to anyone who can help with these questions.

I've said this before, I'll say it again. People complain about eBay and then go to amazon.com that has a lot of the same problems, some worse problems, and eBay took most of its bad ideas from amazon.com.

You know there's ioffer and bonanzle that are both popular and both don't have all that crap.

I have no particular allegiance to Amazon, but I find that it easily gets me the highest margins on many software items that I sell. Sad, but true.

Personally, I suggest you add the bank account now. Just in case...

I would be suspicious of the ship now pay later thing. But that may be just me.

Put up a dummy website for a couple bucks. Make it look plausible enough. Don't give them your already established website.

I am new to amazon and I sold some items 2 weeks ago and my balance was zero. Soon after I added the tracking info to their order, I guess the customers were charged and I had an amount of $xxxx. Does this mean that I am automatically enrolled in the charge when ship? I know it will be mandatory soon for everyone but it seems like thats what happened to me, or is it normally like that for everyone?

Unless you accidentally enrolled (which I am not sure is possible now), they might be automatically enrolling all new sellers. My chief concern is that occasionally, Amazon delays a order because the buyer's billing info needs to be updated. What happens if their credit card needs to be updated on this new system? I'm glad I sell only software; far smaller chance for fraud here.

The charge when ship has been in place for a long time for pro seller accounts.

The "confirm" form has three blanks to fill in, service (USPS, UPS,etc.), type of service (standard, expedited), and a space for the tracking number. The only part that has to be filled in is the shipping service for the confirmation to go through. Then, around 1-s hrs later the amount shows up in your disbursement account, although I've seen the amounts take up to 24 hrs on occasion. On occasions when I didn't enter a tracking number I estimate that I heard back from about one out of 20 customers emailing me asking for the number.

The work arounds would to print your labels, enter the confirmation and wait until your disbursement is on it's way. Mail is supposed to be deposited the date of the postmark, but I've never had any problem dropping it off a day late.

It does give Amazon a few extra hours to hold on to your money.

^^ Thanks - I have a Pro Account but from last year - its only recently I decided to sell.

I canceled the merchant account to sell as individual and it says I am an individual seller, but when I list it still puts my listings in the merchant section - I guess I'll wait to see if I get charged.

Alanc, thank you so much for that info!!!! That was very helpful, and probably a very good idea if you are selling a high-value, high-risk item.

Actually...if I did a disbursement at noon, today, and received orders after and printed labels, entered in all of the confirmation info. by 8-10 a.m. tomorrow morning the amounts should be ready to disperse by noon tomorrow. Virtually, changing nothing.
