does refund shipping fee affect my metric?

i want to refund the customer the shipping fee after the package delivered but I'm afraid it will hurt my metric since it's also a kind of "refund" without customer request return. Can anyone help me on this?

A metric will be impacted I believe with any kind of refund, but I could be wrong

You could send them cash via postal mail :)
