Amazon says Tax info doesn't match IRS records.
They are giving me 30 days to update my tax info or I will be suspended. They gave this information by email soon after the intital verification process. I entered a legit EIN. I chose Sole Proprietor/Single Member as my tax type. The LLC is in fact a single-member LLC so I selected that option over C-Corp or S-Corp.
Is this where I messed up? Should I have claimed C-Corp and then entered the EIN? Is it possible Amazon now expects an SSN because I chose Sole Proprietorship as my tax type for the LLC? Or can Amazon see the name of the person associated with the LLC from some sort of database? (name is close, but different).
Would like to know if I can claim C-Corp now and just give them the EIN again or would this sort of flip-flopping guarantee suspension? Is there anyway to avoid the SSN route now and rectify this?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
