Default Amazon Ean Numbers started to be rejected

I guess I knew it was coming but I have been trying to list a new product and 3 of the Amazon accounts I have tried are rejecting the EAN number..
Message reads
"You are using UPCs, Eans, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN Codes that do not match the products you are trying to list.
If you believe you have reached this message in error, please contact Seller Support.

Any body else run into this yet, might just be a glitch, but heard it was coming.
Guess I will be applying for brand registry..

Where did you source the numbers from?

Ebay, before all the sellers got taken down. I know I am supposed to use GS1 but that will get expensive real fast.

They improving all areas, do not expect that will work forever. Some EANS are associated with some brands or companies (even they are blank) and thats why they do not work.

I'm starting to run into this as well. The eBay EAN sellers with 100% feedback offer lots of assurances and say they own the EANs (not a reseller) and I guess that means they aren't officially taken.

Though if you type them in on the GS1 site it'll get a "not found" message for the owner. I wonder if Amazon is just automatically checking and generating that message referenced in the OP if it gets a "not found"-type result. I dunno whatthe workaround would be.

I'm in a semi-collectibles area that'd be pretty understandable for a GTIN exemption, but it looks like a lot of red tape and they'd probably reject my invoices and I can easily see opening a worse can of worms in trying to get one. So I've been feeding them eBay-bought EANs so far, though it's hard to assess the risk there.

Any suggestions?

Amazon staff recommended me this website 5 years back. Their numbers work well: https://speedybarcodes.com/

They have made it clear for at least a decade now that I'm aware of that they want all EANs/UPCs to be genuine GS1 codes.

If you read the main AMZ forums you'll see that they're clamping down on unofficial codes and OP's issue is increasingly commonplace.
Where did this https://speedybarflies.com/ come from? I am talking about Speedybarcodes.
