OTP Login Issue with Amazon
Alright. Need your expert help and insight.
I am able to login to sellercentral via my computer at home. Literally been cruising for years now with no problem. Whenever I had an OTP request, I've been able to open the authenticator app and provide the code.
Here's the issue. I got a new phone. I went to install the Amazon Seller App on the new phone, but I got the request for an OTP (one-time password). PROBLEM. The authenticator app didn't save the code from when I transferred from my backup. ANOTHER PROBLEM. The phone number (to send the OTP code as an alternate option) is an old number (that I don't have). I was able to have customer service update my phone number to the new one...but it didn't update the OTP security side.
Why can't they send the OTP to my email like they have in the past?
Three other questions...
1. Right now, I don't have to provide an OTP to log into my home computer. But let's say I move out of state. I use the same router, same internet service provider, same computer...but login at a different location...will it require OTP on the home computer I've always used (since I trusted the device)?
2. I'm guessing this means I can never change computers ever?? Because I won't be able to get an OTP for the new device right?
3. WORST CASE SCENARIO: IF I provide my driver license for verification and remove OTP, will that cause any issue to my seller account status? Linking etc?
This curveball came out of nowhere. Trying to be proactive and not get locked out (and thus use driver license verification as a hail mary) if I don't have to.
Thank you for your help!!
