Add New Proucts To Amazon With GS1 Barcodes

Hey,

I'm looking to add new products to Amazon. Previously I got the barcodes form Ebay and entered any brand name and it worked, now it doesn't. I'm looking to buy some barcodes from GS1. When I add the product to Amazon does the brand name I enter have to match the name of the brand registered on GS1?

No it doesn't.

To clarify, you don't buy EAN's from GS1, you rent them via a subscription service. Stop the subscription and theoretically the ASIN could be taken down because Amazon claim they check them. I'm not sure I believe them but wouldn't know as I haven't put it to the test.

Either way, GS1 are entitled to re-lease the EAN.

That's what I meant, so I could buy 100,000 Ean's and use them across multiple accounts with different brand names?
