Has Amazon ever Kept your money?

So ive been reading around on this site after just a few days ago my account is under review, I am selling DVDs and sold a large volume in about 2 weeks so I am guessing that is it after reading some of these threads. I have about 13 orders and I already got 4 positive feedback, because I emailed the buyers after my account went under review to try and get positive feedback.

But my question is, if your account doesn't pass the review which I am just going to assume for now that mine won't. Do you definitely get your money back in 90 days minues the refunds or whatever? Or has there been a case where they just don't give your money to you.

thanks

aspkin 04-30-2010 04:46 AM

No, you'll get your money after 90-days no worries.

No one here has had any issues with that.

imsovip77 04-30-2010 11:32 AM

Well you said you received 4 positive feedbacks so you should most definately pass the review considering you have no negatives or az claims. But as aspkin said you most definately will get your money after 90 days. Amazon does not do the paypal bs

ganbala 04-30-2010 12:20 PM

If you can still log into your seller account after they put you in 90 days hold, you will get your money minus refunds and claims after the hold. If they block/cancel your account and you can't even log in, then consider the money is gone.

thats not true at all,i had 17 feedback on 40 sales on 3 month old account and they booted me,no claims or refunds, they do whatever they want, just cuz you get feedback doesnt mean your account is going to pass

that is 100% false, why do you even mention that? i bet you anything this has never happened to you,i had an account over a month ago and i got my funds,i couldnt log in or anything, amazon are not crooks in that matter, you will get your money, they have no choice but to give it to you, stop making stupid f'n false claims..

Hercules 04-30-2010 02:46 PM

I had to a bunch of times email them over and over till I repeated all day long then I got my money and they were two months late!

thisizit 04-30-2010 03:00 PM

so the general consensus so far looks like i will get my money? also is there a way /do they check the source of the tracking numbers i give them?

The "source" of the tracking numbers? Do you mean that when they request tracking on every item you've shipped, do they go through and actually check each one to see if it shipped?

I think its pretty obvious that they don't.

bigmac 05-01-2010 08:27 AM

i had made an account suspended within 2 hrs no sales now today they charged my credit card for 29.99 no clue why

My statement is based on my true experience. I DID have an account being suspended for 90 days hold and I had confirmed with Amazon Payment-Funds with e-mail that my fund would be released after that,

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. There are currently no A-to-z claims or chargebacks filed against your selling account.

However, the funds currently in your selling account will be transferred to your bank account after the 90-day period has expired, provided we do not receive charge backs or A-to-Z Guarantee claims against your sales.

As you know, your account will be evaluated 90 days after the date of your final sale, which was January 20, 2009.

Please contact us at payments-funds@amazon.com on or after April 20, 2009, and we will transfer your funds to your bank account.

Best regards,

Payment Specialist
Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more

However, they did not release my fund after 90 days nor did they send me any e-mails explaining why it was not released. It was after I found out that my ID was removed to prevent log in and after I sent countless e-mails to Seller-Performance/Jeff Bezos/Payment-Funds, I finally got a reply like this,

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. Please read this message carefully as you will not receive any further correspondence regarding this matter. Any further messages received from you will not be responded to.

At this time your account is still being investigated. Your funds will be reserved until the matter is resolved.

I have tried all options since then. I even filed claims with BBB and IC3.gov, hoping they can somehow "speed up the investigation", which I have no clues what they are trying to investigate?

I have about $16500 held on this account, which I can prove it because I saved every order e-mail/order # I received and I shipped them out with UPS tracking. Despite of this, I never posted bad words about Amazon on how they regulate seller accounts. I got this partially due to too much sales made on a brand new account, which has gone through 2 30-days reviews within 3 months. I passed the first review in 15 days because I e-mailed every buyers begging for feedback and got 9 out of 10 total orders.

You said you will bet anything that this never happened to me?
Well, how much do you have?

catdaddy 05-03-2010 05:08 PM

Wow, that's a lot of cash they're holding, which is probably why they're being so cagey about letting it go, particularly if you made it in such a short period of time.

Apart from what you already tried with contacting the bbb, etc, have you tried having a lawyer pen a letter to the proper channels to prove that you will seriously go after them? I'm pretty sure the specifics for that kind of a maneuver were posted around here, though, I, personally, don't remember all of the details. It worked for whoever mentioned it. Even if the account is in a false name, you can have the lawyer write on behalf of that imaginary person.

I mean, 5 figures is a lot of money and I would recommend pulling every trigger to get them to disburse it to you as soon as possible, especially with that last, snide email they sent you. Its definitely time to stop being nice and unload everything you have.

This happened to me as well. I was finally told that they linked my account to one of my previous suspended stealth accounts, and a chargeback had been iniated on that account and I needed to give them permission to use my funds currently being held to pay off the balance on that other account.

Heres the email I got:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. Please know that we are conducting a brief evaluation of your selling account before releasing your reserved funds. We will contact you early next week to notify you of the transfer of these funds to your bank account.

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. Please know that we are unable to disburse the funds remaining in this selling account until the outstanding debt due on your other selling account has been paid. At this time, your related selling account has an outstanding debt of $93.98. With your permission, we can debit the amount from your current selling account to cover the debt after which we can release your remaining funds.

Please contact us at payments-funds@amazon.com if you have further questions.

Was total bull****, they were holding all my money in my new account, and refused to disburse it unless I gave them permission to pay off some "other" account, that they would never tell me what it was.

I hate amazon for this, they get huge traffic but they exactly do whatever they feel.

I have read on amazon policies or somewhere on amazon info on amazon.com that in case if they hold your account for some reason, after the holding period is over they will give you all your money but not the profits they made on that amount through bank.... WOWWW what a shopping mall

SlickJane 05-11-2010 12:12 AM

My first amazon account, they held $5,000 or so for the 90 days, and I did get it back at day 90.

I made a few other accounts from different computers- one of those accounts, I made $160 or so in a week. I logged in to transfer the money, accidentally and stupidly to the same account as that first amazon account. 2 days later they reversed it, and not only shut the account down, but I can't log into it- they essentially stole $160 from me. Not a lot of money, but it was enough that I'm done with Amazon. I'm not going to risk selling stuff that cost me money, only for them to delete an account again from recognition, and I can't get my money.

You said you will bet anything that this never happened to me?
Well, how much do you have?

sorry im late to respond to this,i explained my situation,i have had 5 total accounts get suspended,2 of them being blocked which means i could never log in.totals for my 3 accounts that were suspended but could log in were 6k,2700 and 1100.the 2 that were blocked were 2k and nearly 1700..i got all my money, the accounts that were blocked they always told me to email some payments@amazon type email(im sure some know what im talking about) and they always answered me,as for the accounts that were blocked, they didnt release them after 90 days,it was whatever day on the 2 week period,so in reality the 2 blocked accounts didnt get released for 104 days

talking to them on the phone on blocked accounts gets you no where, they tell you to email ,i mean 16500 is alot for a brand new account..my 2 blocked accounts were new,i had all 100% 5 star feedback and they still booted me,too many sales on new account,i would never do 16500 on a brand new account,i was stupid for doing nearly 6k,but that account never got blocked and i got that within a month ago

i dont know what you can do,and i dont know if they are holding yer money and for how long, but they cant keep it.its against the law, filing with the bbb against a major corporation like ebay, amazon is pointless to be honest, get a lawyer,im sure you will eventually get yer money,as long as you didnt scam buyers and no a to z claims,i see no reason why they will not give you yer money,i bet you anything you will get it sooner or later

was it stealth account? why dont you get a lawyer? my guess is if you have 16500 tied up,yer not hurting for money,if i had that much tied up on a new account, than money is not as issue, my payouts were not big like yers but were all 4 figures,it didnt bother me that i had to wait 90 days.so hopefully you were smart about it

thousand-face 05-12-2010 05:32 AM

Some user in this forum suggest that ganbal hire a lawyer, but how he can possible do these when is stealth account that most like his name is no under the account, that is something hard to explain to a lawyer to start.
Now , this is a question for ganbala? are you sure has been 90 day since they block your account. Because sometimes they suspend that account and let seat for 30 and after 15 days, meaning if this happen then you will have to wait for 135 days

Here We Go Again 05-12-2010 03:22 PM

AMAZON ACCOUNT TYPES

There is a difference between a Suspended Account and a Suspended & Blocked Account and a Deleted Account.

A Suspended Account:
Usually a 30 day suspension
Does not have Selling privileges
Yes you can still log into your account
You can not withdraw your money
Your account may be reinstated if there are a low number of A to Z's
Your account may be reinstated if you receive some good feedback.
This is very SELDOM the case now days

A Suspended & Blocked Account
Your account will have the little yellow box at the top stating that your account was suspended.
You do not have any selling privileges
You can still log into your account
Your money is locked up for 90 to 104 days from the DATE you received the Blocked Account email from Amazon
Your account has almost NO chance of ever being reinstated
Be sure to wait to add your checking account number to you account until the 90 - 104 days are up.
Then add the checking account and take your disbursement all when you log back in after the 90 - 104 days.

A Deleted Account
You can no longer log into your account at all.
You can go through the "Change Password" circle and still NOT get back into your account.
Your money has been stolen by Amazon.
You MIGHT get it back by check if you are one of the lucky ones (don't count on it though)
Your account will never be reinstated.
Your emails will almost never be answered even though Amazon says they will.

he could go get a dba with the stealth name he has on amazon.

thousand-face 05-13-2010 06:05 AM

Even if he gets a DBA, when you create the LLC , at the time you open you will have to include the name of the owner(presid, vic..) and this name of course will be different that the name of the stealth account plus the date of these dba wont match the day when the amazon account was open. Any way, the problem gets complicate it.

Thank you

Vicvelcro 05-13-2010 06:23 AM

If he registered Amazon with the name Washington Flowers, he could get a DBA under the name Washington Flowers. Thus, they wouldn't ask for info about business officials...

Think 1mm outside the box.

Thank you

you don't have to create an llc , you can just create dba

cardfelon 05-13-2010 01:15 PM

A LLC protects your personal credit and assests. A DBA is sole ownership and that means if somebody decided to sue you over ⊗⊗⊗⊗ product or something else they could get you for everything you own. If your doing business it is way smarter to form a LLC and protect yourself. It doesn't cost that much and you can even get the forms online to do it. A person who sues a LLC can only go after what assests in the LLC name.

what if you have a lot of accounts? do you need to get 1 llc per account?
that would seem to expensive and daunting.

AMAZON ACCOUNT TYPES.....

wow...great info HERE....this is one of the best post replies yet:)

On one stealth account Amazon held my money for 6 months...@@#%@$@#...I called Amazon and a rep told me that Amazon put the acct. on RESERVE 30 days after it was blocked and money will not be released until 90 AFTER that reserve date.

Agent said that money is usually not released until 90 days after your last refund so if u still have have claims and refunds during the 90 days it will take a while to get ur money.

One of my accounts was deleted about a month ago, the ironic thing is that I still have a link to the feedback and its hit 10 (100%). The problem here is that I never added a back account before deletion, and I have 1800.00 sitting there, has anyone had any experience with that?

Contact seller support, they are in Costa Rica. Input your phone number at live seller support and they will call you in seconds. I've had trouble before and they sorted it out fast. Tell em your account was deleted and you need them to add your bank account # so you can get your money.
