pcware | 07-29-2010 05:00 PM | Amazon marketplace shipping service I just got a email from amazon to inform me of their new shipping service that are offering. Here is what is says:
Dear Seller,
We are excited to announce the launch of the Amazon Marketplace Shipping Service.
Using this new service you can purchase USPS postage directly through your Manage Orders pages. To start the process of buying postage for an order, click the Buy Postage button under the order's Product Details section. For more information, visit the Manage Your Orders page.
One advantage of the Marketplace Shipping Service is that Sellers will be able to purchase USPS delivery confirmation for First Class and Media Mail for .19¢ and receive free delivery confirmation for Priority Mail.
Best regards,
Amazon Services
Do you think it would be safe to use this service for stealth accounts???? |
meowmix345 | 07-29-2010 07:35 PM | there is a 99 cent fee to use the shipping service from amazon since its actually provided by stamps.com |

pcware | 07-29-2010 08:11 PM | I have a couple of stealth amazon accounts and only one of my accounts had this email sent to it. I am not a pro-seller nor do I have a pro-merchant account. |
pcware | 07-29-2010 08:13 PM | Guys do you think there is any possibility that Amazon would link an account if you use the Stamp.com shipping service? |
MrMondo | 07-29-2010 08:14 PM | I used it for the first time yesterday - there's no 99 cent fee, just the 7 cents (which you don't get charged if you subscribe to stamps.com, but then you would have all of THEIR fees to deal with). Pretty good deal I think, and long overdue. |
dennisjaneway | 07-29-2010 09:31 PM | i didnt receive that e-mail, hope all accounts will have access.
its great that i dont need to pay the shipping upfront, so that i can use the balance directly from amazon.
One of the best new things on amazon. |
MrMondo | 07-30-2010 08:07 AM | The 7 cents is worth it not to have to stand in line at the post office. Plus I always use delivery confirmation, and it's something like 50 cents cheaper with online postage, so that more than balances for me. (Amazon doesn't accept the post office's delivery confirmation as proof, but my feeling is that it hinders buyers who might be inclined to claim non-receipt.) |
dennisjaneway | 07-30-2010 10:25 AM | And u dont need to pay it upfront! thats very important (for me!) |
I have to assume this is for shipping from within the US only? Quote:

.... delivery conf not proof? thats the first I heard of that.
so tell me this:
sayI have 50bux in the Am acct
shipping thru am costs 5 bux.
do I know have $45 bux in the am acct?
also, say I'm at starbucks and I want to confirm the shipment but print the labels when I get home an hour later -- does it hold it in a queue or something till I get home and can print them?? |
can do the same thing on paypal and its free |
dennisjaneway | 07-30-2010 04:49 PM | with paypal u dont have access to the money in Amazon........
When i ship it the same day, i can use the money directly from amazon, before its disbursed.
I dont need to use my own money/ credit cards |

Really? So an Amazon customer can claim non receipt and tracking doesn't matter? Didnt know that. | That's right! I had a customer who claimed the item was never received. Amazon refunded the order and when I complained they told me that the only proof of delivery they accept is SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. It only happenned to me once after a few thousand sales, so I didn't really worry about it. |
dennisjaneway | 07-31-2010 07:22 AM | so i have that feature now in all my accounts.
less work, no need to copy and paste everything.......0.07 $ is worth! |
MrMondo | 07-31-2010 07:38 AM | Yes you can use PayPal for shipping, but you have to cut and paste the address, or more likely retype it all. With Amazon you just click a few options, print the label, tape it on and give it to your carrier or drop it off at the post office - couldn't be easier. You can use it for international mail yet, which I will be trying for the first time today to see how complicated it is. (My impression with trying to do international mail with PayPal was that it forced me into choices more expensive than what I could get at the post office.) |
MrMondo | 07-31-2010 01:34 PM | Just did some international shipments using the Amazon postage service, and it works fine - no more having to fill out customs forms! Another benefit is that by using this I don't have to go though the final stage of confirming that I have shipped the items. As with all online postage options you get a lower rate than by taking the item to the post office, which more than makes up for the 7 cent fee. I completely love this! |
nobody999 | 07-31-2010 01:45 PM | any possibility that amazon will see where the original destination of the pckage is being shipped from? then suspend you for linking to another suspended account? |

lakeman | 07-31-2010 02:09 PM | Nobody, How would Amazon have any idea where you're located??? If you have any concern then use your stealth address to ship it.. |
nobody999 | 07-31-2010 02:12 PM | say that your really in new york, but your stealth address is in california, when you print a labeland mail the package, it gets scanned by post office and it will say where it was scanned, of course it will say it was scanned in ny, and amazon might get suspcious and try to link you to your suspended account. | All times are GMT -5.
