New amazon account, new computer, old ip

Ok guys. I have read through many threads. I have read enough and am confused.

I got accepted into a restricted category from a friends computer. I have not signed up for my account yet. I have a new computer, but have used it on my same IP the previous suspended amazon account was on a yr ago. I have never logged into amazon with this new computer. I didnt think I would be back to amazon but now am selling different items.

I am confused with all this mac address and ip changing. I want to be sure this works, so at the end of the day, is it just safer getting a new computer and new ip and starting over? I will use either Clear internet or some other mobile hotspot. This should be ok too, right? I have read threads about the mobile internet changes everytime but might be in another state than I am registered in.

I just want to do it once and do it right. If I have to spend extra, it doesnt matter cause I will make it in a week selling (if all goes well).

Thanks for any help.

completely new is key. Your third paragraph is right way to go - not so hot about mobile hotspot since chances are someone has already hit it up - go for your own IP.

can I ask how you got accepted into a restriced category? If you are not signed up, or have you submitted info prior , got accepted and are just now going to list?

also wanting to know what you did to get accepted into restricted category, have been trying that too , Amazon is mysterious about that, do tell...

You need a new IP.

You should also be aware that is you sell more than $750 or so in a 30 day period, your account will be scrutinized.

Also, if I am reading your post correctly, you started a new account from a friend's computer, on THEIR IP. So, you applied to sell in a restricted category and were accepted. But when Amazon sees the account logging on from a different PC and IP address, it will draw their attention as well. Even more so if you are selling high-risk items.

Also, if your friend has an Amazon account, and yours gets blocked, his/hers will most likely be too.

I see many red flags here. You REALLY NEED the Stealth Book. No, I do not benefit if you buy it. But I think it is your best option. True, is is written for eBay, but all of the stealth rules apply to Amazon also. And with Amazon, as you already know, extra steps must be taken. However, the extra steps won't mean anything if you do not have the basic techniques down pat first.

JEM-

I applied to the automotive category. I sell parts. When filling out the questionnaire, I gave them a link to my ebay store that showed all of my positive feedback as a way to get approved. It worked. Now I dont know if linking my ebay account was a good idea or not, but it worked so I am going with it.

Question about my own IP. I already have Time Warner cable internet. Cant use that. I already used AT&T DSL, cant use that. That is the only two high speed options where I live. If I get DSL again, will my IP be different or is it based on physical address how you get your IP address? Would I be ok on a new computer if I got DSL again?

Thanks.
