Default Can you start on Amazon with little funds?

Can you start selling on Amazon with little funds; $200 USD? Also.. Would you get kicked off for selling DVD's that are "used"? Also is it ok to sell used Disney DVD's?

Thanks.

hey

yes you can start on amazon with 200 $ or less.

But if you really want to sell Disney DVDs.......think about it that 99 % of these DVDs are ⊗⊗⊗⊗!

So be prepared for a review/ block because of recopied material!

Try to find a product (maybe books) which are not bootleg!

def 200 is enough money to start, just be sure that when you start you have enough money to ship - az holds your funds for 45 days at first (if \i am not mistaken) so you have to ship the items all out of pocket for the first 45 days in addition to not having any revenue from the items themselves

I cannot comment on disney, no knowledge of dvd

There is a 14 day initial hold on the money. And if you don't add a bank account, that becomes 14 days from the day you add the bank account.

Used DVD's are fine. But make sure they are not counterfeit. All it takes to lose an account with Amazon is for one customer to email them that you sold them a counterfeit DVD. Not to mention that customs is REALLY CRACKING DOWN on importing this type of stuff. Seizures are up everywhere. So if you cannot afford to lose the $200 to a customs seizure, then don't do it.

I started amazon with almost nothing. Here's how you do it:

1. Register with USPS for a business account (completely free)
-- discounted shipping labels

2. purchase priority click and ship labels (I ship everything priority for the reason below)

3. confirm the shipment same day (tracking number shows up as electronic shipping information received when they check on it)

4. request money to your bank, you'll see it in 3 business days, usually 2.

5. buy the stuff and get it shipped to your house

6. soon as it comes in, go to the post office, repackage it and tape on your pre printed shipping label and leave it on the counter, don't even have to wait in line

7. PROFIT!!! (lol)

I built up my business the first time like that, I had something like $20 to my name and had $1000 a week later. I was obviously shut down for sales volume which I had no idea about

The only thing is, is you have to wait the initial 14 days before you can list anything. A good way to do this is to put your account on vacation, then do your listings and on the 13th day around 3PM go ahead and put your listings live, that way you can have your first deposit on its way the second your 14 days are up.

we had that before (a few month ago i think).

For all my new accounts when i add a bank account the first time i can immediatly disburse the money!

Amazon says:

# Hold after entering bank information: 7 days

* If you add or change bank account information, you will not be able to request a manual disbursement for 7 days. This is an important security measure to protect seller accounts.

But that does not count for me ?!

So when i add a bank account after the first 14 days (day 15) i can disburse the money and its in my account after 3-4 days.

So maybe they had that rule month ago, but that is no longer active.

You can NOW disburse the money on day 15 immediatly!

Easy to make money on Amazon without much money.
Open a pro merchant account, find a hot selling item on Amazon, then create new listing but reword the title and double the price, do this for a few items, then also create some cheap loss leaders which will entice people into your store to hopefully buy your overpriced items.
When you sell confirm shipment, don't add tracking number, withdraw your cash in three days or so. Order the item from Amazon, abuse Amazon Prime's unlimited one-day shipping, customer gets in 4 days, you get great feedback. You then take your profit and buy yourself an ice cream.

Don't go crazy though, you will get suspended int he blink of an eye, sell like one item a day to start with, try low risk stuff .

rofl, never thought about that. People are that dumb to choose the highest priced one vs the highest feedback one?

Yep, you see vastly overpriced items on Amazon and think to yourself 'why do they bother?' that's why

Actually now that I recall, the first item I sold on amazon was a first edition book, and I remember my friend telling me how he overprices stuff on ebay and people buys it when its the exact same as another item he has for a lower amount. Made me laugh. yea that first book I just priced it more then everyone else. like 42.99 and the cheapest was 5.49 or something and it sold rofl.

Very nice info from sax4.

I have a few questions - maybe you can clear up for me =)

I have never tried to put a listing on hold - how is that done? Whenever I register as seller, the only way I see it is to start a listing, enter cc number, phone verify, and off it goes.

Other issue that I bring up is if you use your bank account on the 13th dy or whatever, waiting for disbursement then you run the risk that if your account is blocked, you cannot use the bank account again ...in the same way.

Usually if they are going to block you, its not going to be on that 13th day. Either you get blocked within 1 day or you are in the clear for the decepticons bot account linking. I did get blocked one time on my 13th day right as I had 200+ items on vacation ready to do a giant launch and make 5k my first week. This was before I knew about tracking and a bunch of other things, I figured a new address, bank account, blah blah would work. And the second I added my bank account is was blocked. So really if you make it 1 day you are in the clear, or sell a whole bunch and add it then request. But i'd rather know first if everything is clear before I start getting orders. Nothing worse than calculating your net profit then realizing you can't touch the money :/

Hmm maybe I am a bit clueless but I don't see a way on Amazon to hold listings once you open your seller account - care to share?

In your seller info, there is a vacation button.

I actually don't know that much about Amazon, i'm on my second suspension. But I like Amazon because it's fairly low maintenance, for me it's the way forward.
