What Seller Performance wants to see during a suspension appeal

You've been suspended for some violation and you're preparing an appeal. Here are some tips to help you out:

1. Seller Performance is always right (in their own mind, of course). They caught you and they're not interested in hearing why they are wrong and you are right. Saying they made a mistake or are simply "after" you isn't going to work. Seller Performance expects some groveling and a lot of repentance. Really. Be respectful and contrite. Promise to review guidelines blah blah.

2. They will ask you how you are going to avoid the same violation in the future. Make something up like you will read the selling guidelines and carefully compare your listings against those guidelines. If you were canned for listing against different items, say you'll get a Pro Merchant account to enable you to create your own listings if one doesn't exist.

3. Claiming ignorance of some policy will probably work on your first suspension, especially if you promise to carefully review the rules in the future.

4. Can't repeat this too much: be respectful, a little grovelling is good, but not too much. Highlight your successes, such as no or low A to Z rates, Performance targets met, and positive feedbacks. Ignore negative marks, if any, because there's no explaining them away anyway.

Hope this helps out a little!

Once they suspend/block you, I was under the impression that no matter what you do, or say will save you.

Anybody ever win an appeal? and if so, what did you do or say to get a second chance?

Amazon usually has a zero tolerance for nonsense. Claiming ignorance will not save you!

I was suspended three times. Mostly for stupid and unproven speculation on their part. Only the last one was permanent. It's not impossible to appeal. But if it's for something like suspecting you of selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗, you're probably out of there for good.

If it is for too many cancellations, refunds, or even possibly low feedback you can get back on. I know because I had too many cancellations on one account and got suspended. I then had a chance to appeal stating how I would change my business practices and cut down on canceling. I was approved after about a week of waiting.

If you are suspected of selling counterfeits though, slim at the very best to more likely permanent ban.

Agreed. As long as you provide a plausible, intelligible plan to "be good", you will probably get another chance. Ditto on counterfeits meaning you're out of there for good.
