Axcend | 05-19-2011 07:18 AM | IMPORTANT iPhone for IPs Ok guys so I lost all my accounts this past weekend, due to no fault of mine. They weren't linked so to say but because all my IPs had the first two 3 sets of numbers being the same, they deleted all the accounts with those first 2 numbers in common. Take caution with your ip ranges as it seems they need to be totally unique.
Now that that's been said, I'm thinking of going with a virgin mobile dongle simply because they offer unlimited even tho it is cappe after 5 gigs. Any input or advice? |
lakeman | 05-19-2011 07:36 AM | You tethered one iPhone for multiple Amazon accounts? That's how you were linked, nothing to do with ips. |
Red X | 05-19-2011 08:10 AM | When you tether you still have to change your MAC Address, not sure if you know this, or not.
You can only tether a cell phone to one account only, once blocked you can't use it anymore, so it's only good for 1 amazon, and good for tons of ebay accounts. |
Axcend | 05-19-2011 09:03 AM | I changed my macs for each account. These accounts had been fine for over 2 months. |
Red X | 05-19-2011 09:10 AM | So, you used 1 iphone for more than 1 amazon account? I believe this is the reason your accounts were shut down, even if they were alive for 2 months. |
Axcend | 05-19-2011 09:35 AM | Just like most dynamic IPs, all the numbers changed except the first 2 sets . They didn't give me the linked account emails at all |
lakeman | 05-19-2011 09:44 AM | Axcend like I said IP cannot get you suspended because the first two sets are the same. There's still thousands of combinations possible even with the first two sets the same.
Red is right on, Your iPhones mac address is what linked you. Sure you can change your computers mac, but not your phones mac... |
Axcend | 05-19-2011 09:56 AM | So how can I avoid this in the future? Will a virgin mobile dongle work?
Or does the dongle have a Mac address as well? |
Axcend | 05-19-2011 11:50 AM | Mac address for dongles? Do Internet dongles have Mac addresses? And if so, how do you go about changing them? ThanksB
Meant to make this a new thread |
skadodie | 05-19-2011 03:32 PM | Am I understanding this correctly? You can tether one iphone and manage as many different ebay accounts as you want right? |

Meant to make this a new thread | Dongles is a better option for maintaining more than 1 amazon account than tethering with a cell phone. |

Any input or advice? | Hello there I don't think the first 2 sets( xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ) is a problem at all. Cause amazon may ban all Ip rang blockes alocated with ISP . Haha! You can use VPN servise or Hight anonymous US proxys with many dedicated IPs witch not leak your mac address and http forwarded traffic. Otherwisw if you want to use your own dynamic IPs better to do mac clone into the router if you have DSL connection .But for Iphone I did not have any experiance.

Meant to make this a new thread | Each dongle you buy has it's own mac address, in terms of changing the mac address on them thats also possible, however you have 2 options: First option:
You can buy cheap dongles these days.
I used to buy dongles in fact and sell them, i found that each different type of dongle i bought had a different mac address. If you decide to go for this option, make sure it's not the same type of dongle as the one you have currently as they sometimes have the same mac, Second option:
This is actually a great tool you can edit you mac address from it, works fine (Desktop machine, no wireless card, USB Bluetooth dongle), I managed to change my MAC address without any hassle in the past, Run the program, fill your desired MAC address and push CHANGE. That's all.
There maybe other options but i think these are your best two for now.
Hope this helps, Good luck. Download Mac Makeup 1.95d Free - An application that allows you to change your Mac address. - Softpedia |
Gamefreak | 02-07-2012 03:48 AM | IP with selling the EXACT items paired with other things I can see that but IP alone NO WAY man. Perhaps you slipped once and you we all know thats all it takes. |
ovidiu | 02-07-2012 07:30 AM | If you decide to go for this option, make sure it's not the same type of dongle as the one you have currently as they sometimes have the same mac,
Unlikely. MAC addresses are supposed to be entirely unique. Sure I suppose a duplicate is possible, but not likely, especially on a network device like a dongle.
Axcend, how were you changing the MAC on your iPhone (what method)? |
TheSkyInYourEye | 02-10-2012 12:13 AM | It's possible to change the MAC address on the iphone, so it isn't necessarily limited to one amazon account per iphone.
Check out the app MacX4 |
